I see the Yorkshire Senior Squd has been announced.
It looks a good squad, with a mix of the best Yorkshire talent from Clubs in Nat 1, Nat 2 North, Premier North and Yorkshire 1.
Good luck to them.

Not being from Yorkshire, I notice there are no Hull players in the team are they all not from Yorkshire?

I wouldn't know.
I don't know the selection criteria for getting into the Yorkshire Squad and, as Hull never publish their Match day squad, I couldn't tell you plays for them or where they are from.

I remember a few years ago, Hull had some Tongans playing for them and some of them were somehow included in the Yorkshire Squad. I didn't think that was right at the time.

Qualification for Yorkshire used to be by birth, residence or club. Under those rules we have had Australian Internationals and (non Yorkshire born) British Lions play for the county.  So the Tongans are quite within their right to play - and considering how many Yorkshire qualified players don't want to play for the County I will take those that want to any day.

Richard,
I wouldn't argue against anyone's right to play for Yorkshire but, at the time, I thought the Yorkshire selectors had taken the easy option rather than look at more home grown talent around the County.
After all, the County matches provide important representative rugby for prospective England Counties players, who play in Nat 1. and below.

After an unbeaten County campaign it is great to see some Yorkshire Lads selected for the England Counties tour to Romania this summer.

Well done to Hull Ionians Joe Makin & Lewis Minikin and Jamie Broadley of Sheffield Tigers.

Any news on players who have been put forward for this years squad? I think a few from Huddersfield could be in with a shout. And I reckon Johnson in the Lancashire squad is a given?
