Very interesting to see DMP view on Red Card situation from Saturday. "..prop..was straight red-carded for retaliation to being held down by an opposition lock, the retaliation being deemed to be to (sic) excessive"
 
Disappointing that inference was that the opposition lock started it and that the retaliation may not have been that bad! Holding a player defenceless on the ground and punching him upwards of 8 times (I've watched the video) would probably be classed as excessive in most people's books. A thug doing that on a Saturday night in town would be arrested imho.
 
Shame that DMP didn't have the cahonas to call him out but, hopefully, the citing committee will apply a suitable penalty ban.
 
There is no place on (or off!) the rugby pitch for this thuggish behaviour.
