Strange going on at Blackheath today and not the result but the fact that there were 11 interchanges and 8 of these were from injury where the player was unable to continue and after 60 minutes the Blackheath pack consisted of 3 props 2 hookers and 3 flankers/back row. Albion’s only non enforced change was for their hooker so further changes to mix things up was impossible. I cannot remember ever having so many serious injuries in one match.

Some amazing results yesterday, notably Esher v Ampthill & Club v Albion. 4 of the top 6 lose - it remains anyone's title, and some fascinating battles to come, not least in the context of the 'who wants to go up?' question...

Highly entertaining match at Molesey Road yesterday but can anyone who was there explain why the Ampthill player kicked the ball dead (over his own try line) at full time instead of keeping it live ....... it left everyone very perplexed 🤔

That's what the Ampthill match report says...

Last time I was at Molesey Rd there was a functioning scoreboard - was it in use yesterday?

The new scoreboard was operating at Molesey Road yesterday. The message at the end of the game was that As thought they were 1 point ahead, however that doesn’t quite explain why they went through 4 phases and moved the ball into the middle of the pitch before kicking it out. Amazing match, 2 penalty tries, Esher got 2 intercept tries and the difference was Esher’s Place kicking 6 from 6.

Surely they were (incorrectly) winding the clock down before kicking the ball out?

14 players were trying to get the ball into the Esher half, 1 player was winding the clock down, I suspect. The ref was pretty clear with both teams that there were only 30 seconds to play so you're probably right.
