Why wouldn't you book as soon as you get confirmed fixtures?

Why would you?

You obviously don’t know how it all works as 12 weeks before they release advance tickets with significant savings off the standard fare

4.23 miles as the crow flies from Heywood Rd to the AJ Bell.
I suspect AJ Bell has underpitch heating.
But I doubt Sale FC have any right to play there - any more than they could play at Old Trafford.

Thanks Camquin, underground heating probably explains it, Falcons played Sale at A.J.Bell on Saturday in the premiership cup.

Because of their very close relationship I am sure if Sale Sharks manage to land Brodie Retaalick they will give him a few games at Sale FC before they ease him into the Sharks...........so I am slightly surprised that they didn't offer the AJ Bell for the DMP match.......

Ha we had this a few years ago when we were offered the then current Argentina winger on loan to regain match fitness following injury and after rubbing our hands in glee we were reminded of above rule and had to decline the offer but offered him a run in our 2nds which was taken up so the player went from playing in front of many thousands in a test match to running out for Blackheath 2s and crowd of about 5. Fair play he did play 2 games before returning to parent club (think it was a London Irish when former club captain Toby Booth was in charge)

And, if he had announced his retirement from international rugby, he would presumably then not deemed to be current ? Could he then have played the 2 games and then backtracked and said he wanted to be reconsidered. Did you miss a trick there Rabbie ? 😊

A few years ago a current Welsh international rugby league player rocked up at Caldy to see if he could get some game time in a period which was out of season for him but would get him match fit for the Rugby League World Cup. The player was a ferocious and powerfully big centre who had scored some test tries against the Kiwis. Fair play to him he didn't want to play 1st xv and deprive another lad of a 1st xv slot but he was happy to play 2nd xv.

His first game was against Birkenhead Park's 2nd xv  ..........there was a clash of styles. A Birkenhead Park prop gave him a dig on the floor after eventually hauling him down.............the prop got more than a dig back and was left reeling and befuddled by the speed and ferocity of the retaliation. The referee was oblivious as his attention was on the continuing play.

The Caldy coach wisely thought it was time to make use of the rolling subs and from the touchline I counselled the league player that if the referee had seen the incident he would have given him a red. "Your joking" said the league player "I only gave him a couple of taps".

For the rest of the time at Caldy his discipline was good ....................but he couldn't half clatter the opposition with some of the biggest hits imaginable.

Big Eddie, looking at the forecast,is there any chance the wooden shack will have blown away.
Unfortunately she who must be obeyed has me on domestic duties, so I cannot make it up - maybe next season.
