Topic: We Believe! They might be on...... Posted: 12 Jan 2010 at 07:06 |
So seriously what games, if any stand a chance of being on this coming weekend?
Possibly games in the midlands but anything in Yorkshire and to the East must be struggling?
Hopper doing my best to generate points scoring opportunities. I note however you have not posted predicition league fixtures so you obvisouly Dont Believe!

Bees are holding a pitch inspection on Wednesday. Although Bingley was one of the coldest spots in the country, the depth of the snow may have stopped the frost getting too deep.
If it doesnt freeze again, then there is an increasing possibility of a game v Caldy on Saturday.

Garden was rock solid on the bits emerging as the snow recedes.
Who knows as more snow forecast for tomorrow and some varying forecasts for the next few days temperature wise.
If I had to call now I would hedge against rather than for

Allan, have a look at this forecast
it may start to thaw out on friday but with the amount of snow around and a deep frost the heavy rain could make conditions diabolical under foot.
Just under the surface rock hard and yet the surface could be a jar of glue - dangerous

Thanks Mersey ... well that sounds like a 'no' then.
So I'll avoid building myself up for a trip to the 'Sands. Shame. Makes the forthcoming three months look like a nightmare waiting to happen. By my reckoning, if we keep to Saturday games, Loo v Fylde will be on 8th May, same day as Lancs v Cheshire at the Woodlands. Tired players, tired spectators losing interest, tired sponsors. Oh joy!

Hi to all you chaps up north but believe it or not we have also had some pretty wintery weather. Apologies for interloping your thread but it's first v second on Saturday and I was wondering if any Ealing supporters know what state their pitch is in. And please, no jokes about wintery southern weather being nothing more than a snowflake.

Given the two spare Saturdays in February & March, only two extra weeks necessary at the moment - unless there is more bad weather. If I was King of the National Leagues I'd pressurise clubs into finishing their seasons by a particular date even of they have to use the Easter break to do so, or use floodlights for those clubs that have them. Surely no one in their right mind wants the season to drift on like last time when 'meaningless' games were eventually abandoned as everyone had lost interest. Brings the league system into disrepute IMHO.

Suede you must be in a better place in Yorkshire than I am if you are saying there is a slight chance of playing this weekend in Bardford or in Bingley!! There is no chance about 20 miles away in central yorkshire!

Temp 1.6c at 8.30pm The forecast is rain and westerly wind. I would think the decision may be made on Friday. One good rain fall usually clears the frost at Blundellsands

Jugman where did you hear this?? Suede says no more than 50/50? Think this will be a week where we are back to normal with last minute pitch inspections!
