It looks as though you, almost single-handedly, remember Wakefield. I have read various atricles about the club, including wikipaedia (sorry for the proper spelling here). What I find a bit strange is that Wakefield is still a member of the Yorkshire Union, even though it does not have a team. I presume you were involved at Wakefield in some form.
 
There should now be a forum 'remember Orrell'.  Perhaps there is, I haven't fully looked.
 
I have got into a bit of strife on the unofficial Coventry board, being perceived as a trouble maker by a few. Some certainly misunderstand my reasons for posting there. I sincerely hope we do not have to start a board, remember Coventry.

DaveH, This board started off as the Wakefield message board, which I ran, before branching out first into National League 1 and then to the format you see today.
 
I was a Wakefield RFC supporter from 1976 to it's sad demise in 2004.  I still am...
 
This part of the site - including the Wikipedia entry is intended to keep the clubs memory alive and remind everyone that although the benefits of professionalism can be vast, there is also the downside - of which Wakefield and latterly Orrell have suffered.

I have been on some of the Orrell sites. The last time I looked, a few days ago, the Nomads wasn't up and running (just looked from you link - still saying August 9th). I have been on 'the tosas' a few times, but only, as it were, after the Lord Mayor had departed. I look at the news coming out of several clubs, and I fear for some of those clubs. I hope none of them goes to the wall, but I think several will succumb in the next few years. 
 
I am a  member of Caldy (Wirral). We do have a forum, but as I have said elsewhere, it is not too active.

Hi.  I am new to this post. I look forward to getting to know you all.  I am a Cornish Pirates supporter and i also follow plymouth.

I was at the final game for wakefield when they played the Pirates in Penzance.  Although we won it was heartbreaking to witness the Wakefield players trudging off the field at the end of the game, and out of a Job.

I will never forget that horrible feeling.

RIP Wakefield!
