Its also worth pointing out that BUCS rugby has a pyramid system beneath the top flight. I saw a couple of matches in South-Eastern Division 2 a couple of years ago when doing my postgrad at Royal Holloway, University of London. That was a good level of rugby and hugely enjoyable to watch.

The Oxford v Cambridge game today was entertaining, well 2nd half anyway. Oxford had a few backs with Premiership club experience and looked impressive.

Agreed it was an entertaining game and a high standard too, largely because of the professional players on view. I had to smile when after a raft of changes the commentator told us how young the Oxford back-row - "all of them only 21-22 years old". Silly me, I thought that's what university rugby was about!
