I predict P for most games. Check the Met Office website for current readings at Crosby Coastguard Station, in Blundellsands half a mile from Loo's ground. Today's max 2 deg, min -4. Metcheck is forecasting hard frosts for L22 for rest of week, with snow overnight Thurs and heavy snow on Fri. Even the sand on Waterloo beach won't take a spike, let alone a stud, at the mo. I'm popping out there now with my dogs to see if the Gormley statues have got any balls left.

Cheers Yours!

Am currently organising my winter wardrobe ahead of my trip to the coast!! how many layers would you suggest for watching the game?

Obviously if the fire is on then a single layer will suffice lol

Personally I'm wearing a T shirt, a rugby jersey, a fleece, a bodywarmer/gilet and a windproof ankle length raincoat today when I go out (it's sleeting and the water is freezing as it hits the roads and pavements). Temp at Crosby coastguard was still sub-zero at 1000hrs

Anyone here give us an update on the Beverley pitch condition? And any other N3N pitch updates?

Doesnt matter anyway eoghan. Beverley will tell you the pitch is playable regardless then call you up on sat morning when you are halfway across the Pennines and say " oh sorry, game is off"

Crosby temps crept above zero this morning and had reached 2.4deg by noon. Could still be OK for Beesboys

I think you have the wrong idea, Beverley get no satisfaction out of travelling teams setting off and then the game being called off. Until the pitch is definately unplayable they cant/shouldnt call the game off. Beverley themselves have experienced problems travelling away only to arrive at the ground to find the pitch unplayable, namely trips to Rossendale and Penrith in recent seasons, unfortunately this is life, deal with it.

You will be pleased to know however that due to the recent snow the game tomorrow has been called off in advance as there is no prospect of the pitch being playable.

Having been on Waterloo pitch in last hour I don't want Bradford supporters to be overly optimistic of the pitch being playable.

There is excessive water on the field which is not penetrating because the frozen condition just a few inches deep.

The overnight forecast for Crosby is 0 deg.and would describe prospect for the game being played as doubtful.

Thanks Stabba,

No doubt both sides will want to give it as long as poss but having checked bbc weather for L23 it doesn't appear that global warming will arrive in time for the match!!!!

Get plenty of logs on the fire for 25th then.
