[QUOTE=OLDALIKADOO10]I rarely post on this forum and the conversations I’m seeing
Reinforce why I don’t. I was under the impression this a rugby forum for people to talk About rugby issues. Maybe a few of us know a little more About what goes on in clubs we support and just want to give A heads up (player transfers, building of new stadiums) General rugby stuff. In my view if want to comment on any non rugby stuff I suggest you stick to Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp Stay safe ![]() |

Enough of this. Take a timeout please. Rugby if we can, we’ll all understand it we can’t.

Yet again you are saying things that simply are not true and yet again you are avoiding the question put to you. No one has said you aren't allowed an opinion of course you are. I am also allowed an opinion and because you make things up and don't answer points raised my opinion remains that you are a troll.

St John's Ambulance are looking for volunteers - they will even train you to administer the vaccine. |

It will take professional and trained people to administer the vaccine but it will also require a national effort to administer the vaccine, including roles such as transporting people to have their jabs, getting information to them, stewarding them in safely which volunteers can do, so the country can get back to a degree of normality.

Travel costs will be significant one local football team needed three coaches to take their team to an Away game so how many for a full squad plus additional staff? Alternative travel would entail either Plane or Train.

I would go further, with a short ‘season’ and no leagues under championship and not have promotion/relegation in the 2021/22 season. I think a lot of teams will need time to find their feet. Next season, wasn’t that the one that the conference concept was being suggested. If two clubs move up to Premiership, and with National 1, 2N and 2S reducing by two clubs would 2021/22 have 16 clubs? Regional games 14, inter conference 8. Thus 22 games, which is the amount of league games we have been playing. Do championship clubs plan to fill the void of the ‘league cup’ with something else?

Yes indeed - my wife pointed out the problems this dentist was having getting through the beaurocracy. Absolutely ridiculous and yet the government claims to be recruiting Off duty cabin crew (presumably on the basis they have an acceptable level of first aid training)
I guess what the government claims and what they actually achieve are two different things having underdelivered on every single target they have set themselves so far. I suspect we can be no more than 7 to 10 days away from a full lockdown (or level 8 or 9 as we may be classing it as by then) and I mean a full lockdown - not the pretend one we have in force at the moment. This will, I believe, include professional/elite sport which from previous posts is obvious that I would fully support

Thatbloke The idea that rugby players can be 'trained up' to administer the vaccine is vacuous. Unless it is some form of manual or administrative work there is very little that professional rugby players can do directly assist in the roll out. What they are 'trained' to do is provide entertainment for fans of the sport, the current restrictions make it almost impossible to do anything else. An informative article on the hoops that need to be jumped through to be eligible to administer the vaccine: Edited by Trailfinder - 09 Jan 2021 at 14:25 |

Really cannot see the logistics of starting this season in the championship Some clubs have large numbers of players who are not fully professional Richmond does not have 1 full time professional rugby player on the books So my questions are As an employer why would I allow my employee to play rugby with a chance to get this horrible disease ? Why would my employee want to play rugby ? If over 65s are not going get their first jab until April how can we get crowds ? Promotion/Relegation As National 1 season is cancelled how can you promote any team ?
Costs If we start the season on March 6th Covid tests would have to be done every week it will cost each club 24k per month Plus extra cost for travelling etc Where is the income coming from ? |

Fine - I can live with being called a "troll" What I am struggling to live with is the increasing threat of Covid caused by total irresponsibility amongst large proportions of the population, many of them from a sporting environment. Pointless me commenting further if I am not allowed my opinion

Do you have some mystical power that enables you to tell what is top of the agenda in some people's minds? This along with your willingness to sling out accusations without having the character to name those you accuse absolutely makes you a troll in my view.

When the Premiership and RFU need the Championship to be an "elite" professional league we are.
When the Premiership and RFU don't need the Championship to be an "elite" professional league we are not, as highlighted by the reduced funding.

Professional sport IS up and running - it returned at various points in June & July, with rugby in England resuming in August. The Championship comes under the elite sport umbrella and as a result is seeking to have an abbreviated season, belatedly joining the resumption that is now well-established at the top level (as well as the equivalent/2nd tier in France).
Yes, there are still a lot of challenges to getting any sort of season at T2 off the ground & there'll be many on what is predominantly a forum for semi-pro/part-time rugby clubs who don't agree the Championship is an elite level, but that's the Championship all over - neither one thing nor the other in many respects, with a wide range of approaches within it. It's not like the Prem, or the lower tiers, but it contains 12 clubs with great history and pedigree and tens of thousands of followers... I know some people think there shouldn't be any sport at present, others think it's providing a bright spot in bleak times, but hopefully we can discuss this without b1tch1ng at each other and people scoffing at the Championship because it's more professional than the tiers below and is trying to get games on. In that vein, I apologise for an earlier accusation of trolling I made to another poster. |

More pertinent is that there’s actually need for food banks which all our wonderful clubs are contributing too. Well done to them all but hunger poverty really shouldn’t exist in 2021 and I hope all those involved ensure that societal changes will see a diminishing of the wealth gap and less requirements for charity to put meals on the table
