The vast majority of clubs I refer to have opted out, we travel far less down here and rarely get travel support. The shamateur cubs are hard to prove as its all hearsay;
- but why choose club A who are further away than club B;
- how do you prove the players job is based on him playing rugby;
- if the players wife is  a "secretary" for a company how do you prove its for the player to play at a club;
- how do you prove a recruiter has placed a player so they play at club A;
- how do you prove a rich benefactor has hired a player with the clubs knowledge if they want to do it off their own back?

But I totally appreciate that they are playing with fire. TBH I have not heard of cash payments at all recently!!

Workerbee many clubs can afford to opt out in the South or are getting around it like the old shamaeuter days! My club was relegated to Level 7 this season and we lost 6 players for the folding stuff. £100 a week to a 20ish yo makes a big difference.

I never did find out what happened at Port but a decent goalkicker at this level makes all the difference. Can he bring fruition to Anselmians dreams?

I think there's an incremental rise along the way don't worry about that. Cracking lad, good player, metronomic kicker. He's done alright.

I think he picked up a bad injury close to the end of the season, might be an additional factor

Never met him but get the point. I'm planning a trip to Port v Wilmslow so will post my thoughts after that. I'm not holding my breath because even at the top there is still a degree of uncertainty ( bu which I mean Mr Jones). Looking forward to new season good luck to all

No? I’ve just gone through the website via my phone and found the fixtures for the league - granted it’s a few extra clicks from what it used to be.

I suspect it might be a case of the settings on the device you’re using.

Thanks for the input -BUT ( and its probably me) - if I go to RFU website and follow Wilmslow I can see that he game on 14/09 is against Port but if I search for Stockport there is no record of the first team.

If I go to RFU North and follow the link suggested I just get a load of meaningless characters.

I will keep trying but am getting a little hacked off - any further advice?

I'm still unable to access N1W fixtures for 2019/20 whether via the RFU or indeed my own club - is it me or is it still "work in progress"? Or is there another site?
