I have decided to open a new thread for news of any re-signings, new signings and departures for the 2017-18 season.
Cornish Pirates have announced the re-signing of prop Marlen Walker and Back Row Dan Lee for next season.

So how does that work?
A few weeks ago, Jersey didn't have a pot to p**s in but now they are able to provide some sort of stability for the next 4 years?

Don't get me wrong - it would be truly enlightening and encouraging if HB could rely on this...

The refinancing deal from November - sale of the ground, clubhouse and other assets which will be leased back with the aim of repurchasing in 3 or 5 years - allows the club to plan ahead. Costs will need to be cut, but keeping our Head Coach has been identified as a priority.

With this trio and the LW players there's going to be some interesting squad changes before the end of Feb.

With the sudden new 20+ players available, where will they end up?

JB sacked off for too long on the treatment table. Unfortunately standard clause in Championship contracts. No real security playing at this level.

IIRC Pirates behaved pretty damn honourably in this regard towards him before he decided to clear off to Gloucester.

Pirates have a good track record of looking after long term injured players. Once a Pirate always a Pirate.

Poor form from Ealing. Hopefully discourages players from joining in the future if they're willing to just discard players midseason

Ealing Trailfinders looked after this injured player way past the contracted agreement.....way past, more than half of last season. You should really get your facts right before casting such allegations. Ealing look after injured players better than most clubs at this level.
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

There is a recognised window to look for a new club and it is at this time ( second half of the season ) when negotiations take place.

Confirmed on the Nat 1 page, Liam Edwrads has joined us, initially until the end of the season. We are also hoping to get Mike MacFarlane back as he played for us as a Junior and up to the point he went to Rosslyn Park. Both have been injured all season and so haven't played for Ealing in League matches.
