Anyone else really impressed with the TMO at the World Cup. It’s all been really clear and relatively quick.

I agree it has been quicker, however for speed and accuracy try watching Australian Rugby League.

The Bunker (their name for TMO) is very quick, accurate and even names players involved.

A lesson to all.

It is improving week on week in footy as they get used to it and tweak it.

Today's Welsh game finished at 12.47ish - more than 2 hours after it started. That's nearly half an hour of added time, of which I reckon about 50% was down to the TMO and the rest to injurues...

As an aside, between the final whistle and the end of the broadcast at about 1.35, ITV talked Wales & Welsh matters for the entire time apart from 3-4 mins on Scotland. No mention at all of big games coming up for England/Ireland in the next few days, or for that matter of the bl00dy great typhoon bearing down on Japan! Angry

It was a Welsh game with viewers interested Wales !
When do you think is the right time to talk at length about Wales, during an English game ?

Great win for England today but the TMO was embarrassing.

With regard to the Aussies disallowed try near the end, the ref quite rightly goes back to check for a forward pass. The TOM clearly states that there was no clear evidence of a forward pass. What rubbish!
The ref then looks at the play back and says there is a clear forward pass. Try disallowed.
Well done referee but, shame on the TMO. He sits there in front of all of that technology and cannot see what everyone else can see. Appalling.

Beggars belief, I worked on the 2015 World Cup particularly the Technology side, the TMO would have had a zoomed in version on one of the other monitors at his disposal. Hope he doesn't do another game.

Just turned off the Nigel Owen show.
Picky or what? 3 glaring errors already, well done Nigel.
However, the TMO got it spot on with the NZ try.

Totally agree, TMO decision was ridiculous - a clear forward pass to a player ahead of him. I can understand it being missed in play but the TMO only has to look at an incident in slow motion.

Southern Hemisphere bias? Or just typical of their 'lessez faire' attitude to the rules?

Agree with all the criticism of TMO Skeen, shocking performance. On another point when will the top referees start to penalise players going off their feet at rucks ?
If Rugby is the game they play in Heaven ..... Why does it hurt like Hell when you retire?

If the Referee saw the forward pass it n real time why the heck didn't he blow up?

TMO decisions of this nature make a mockery of "play to the whistle".

I think he saw it but wasn't certain, allowed play to continue, reviewed it.

TMO Skeen adjudged both passes to be ok, whereas the referee rightly disagreed from the pictures on the screen.

Absolutely the correct procedure in my opinion, with the ref having the guts to make his own decision despite poor advice from the TMO.

Another example of a '5 minute wonder' rule. I don't know why they don't just let them get on with it (actually they often do)?
