All very interesting. I just wish that our lot were at level four! How would our much-improved team have fared?
Perhaps next season...........?

At Hoppers, a series of unfortunate delays meant it was February before we got use of our AGP.

The disruption that caused was a factor but not the deciding one as far as I could see. What was more pertinent to Hoppers was the need to control the playing budget (i.e. reduce it that year) whilst a lot of work was going on separate to the AGP.

Learning to play on the AGP is a skill and does take time for a club with one to work out the nuances to ensure it is in their favour.

I'm not sure therefore if Stour's recent form would therefore be comparable to what happened to Hoppers. Hoppers certainly weren't top half of the table before the AGP came on line last season and lacked the squad to stay up last year.

Stour seem to have got away to a great start and just suffering a blip. Injuries or niggles to key players or just a loss of momentum might be issues? Or, perhaps just maybe, they have had a tough run of games and been beaten on the day by teams who have played better. It does happen! And it happens to all of us!

In the long term, if managed correctly, the AGP will be a magnificent facility for Stour, the local rugby scene in their area and a distinct advantage to play on once they have worked out the best way.

Stours gameplan needs "refinining" for the 4g.

Anybody who thinks that you can play the same way on grass as you can on AGP is deluded.

Unfortunately with wet weather, the balls becomes even slippier due to not having mud and dirt, and unfortunately stourbridge do not have the skills to be offloading on that AGP in those conditions. Stourbridge have a great front 8, and they need to be trusted more if Stour are to succeed.

Plus, and a point which nobody has mentioned despite 3 tries coming in the last 10 minutes or so, is that Stourbridge looked unfit. With the game poised at 0-7 and 0-14, there was only one team in the ascendency.

Beat Tynedale this week (as I suggest in my prediction), then it is Macclesfield, Luctonians, Sheffield, Wharfedale, Chester, and Blaydon.
These teams occupy 6 of the bottom 7 spots.
Just saying guys !!

You also was Huckleberry sure at 9 wins from 9 .... At which point I stated you would not be top at Christmas and you jumped all over the comment, even orangesging off my English and getting personal.

Now you are not top and what I have said .... Has come to pass .... Shall you eat humble pie ???? Nope !!!

Yes you have those teams .....
Wharfdale are on the up ... As you said not us
Blaydon beat tigers ... Who beat you
Macc have big players coming back from injury .... Who you should know
Sheffield just beat lions .... Who finished 4th last year
Chester beat tigers at home ... Which stour could not do.
Luctonians is a derby .... You can never ever judge a derby game !!!

After all that you have the top teams to play again, which it would seem (35 - 0 at home... Ouch) you cannot handle !!!

You will be a top 6 team again, but only just.

Sorry for any spelling mistakes !!!

Just sayin

The Lucs game will be interesting - Lucs pushed Stour very hard at Stourbridge when the pitches were firmer.

Lucs are very strong at home, particularly when the pitches get softer - whats the phrase, Pigs in ****?

Has not been much mention of Tynedale (Big Eddie aside) on these Forums - they seem to be operating under the radar but in Corbridge against Stourbridge I reckon they should start as slight favourites.

I would much rather be eating some pigs in blankets than having to face that mob on that pitch.

It is a realistic expectation, sadly Mitch has not told you, that winning the league, is not part of his remit - snort! I was a defo for the 16th, now my social calendar is unravelling and I am due back in Cheshire, for number 1 client's Christmas bash, which also involves Mrs Wilkey. Negotiations continue!

If they solved the Brexit divorce this morning, you can solve that one.
Which one is Mitch ? He wouldn't speak to mere mortals like me!

Has the Grinch cancelled seasonal spirit on rolling maul. Have the Shouty people completely lost their voice? Looking forward to Christmas shenanigans at Stour tomorrow, as the Macc Lads take on the Black Country Almost Boys!
