Anyone want to take a guess on who plays who and where.

Does anyone know who decides ?
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Just like in the cup group stages, You could always ask your team to withdraw if it pains you too much.

Wow who would have thought it? The two favourites not drawn against each other and both at home.

That is exactly what the draw rules said.  Is wasn't much of a draw... Pirates could not play Irish, so it had to be the draw as is.

Difficult to be too optimistic about the Pirates' chances. Ealing were simply too good at the Mennaye last weekend. Having said that I didn't rate our chances in Jersey in the quarter final and we pulled it off.

team selection will be interesting with injuries etc and the eligibity to play so no done deal as far as the result is concerned

Yorkies & Pirates will both be up for it and should play their strongest teams available but Irish probably wish they could just focus on the league and will surely not risk their key assets before key away games in Leeds & Cornwall. ET as B&I holders will surely put a strong side out but will also still hope that Irish slip up and lose another game to make the end of term fixture in Reading a meaningful game.

I can't see us putting our best XV out after last week's performance. Time to rest any niggles and give a chance to some possibles. A win away would be a long shot whoever we put out.
That's easy for you to say.

Should be a "great" atmosphere at Reading.
How serious will Irish be taking the match

We'll find out in a few hours when the squads are announced; I would have thought Irish have enough strength in depth to field a competitive line-up while still resting some key players + those with injury niggles; and I'd expect the second-string players to be up for it, especially those yet to have certainty on where they'll be playing next season - they'll be eager to impress.

With the final taking place after the league season's finished, I think all four teams would like to have that as something to crown the season...

Ealing Trailfinders team to play Cornish Pirates in the Championship Cup Semi Final on Sunday 24th February at Trailfinders Sports Club:
A very strong squad put out by Ealing, with notable returns from injury in the form of Durutalo and finally club captain Sam Dickinson. I like the use of David Johnston at 13 - he did well there filling in as an injury sub the last few weeks. Seems to fit his physical style.

15 Will Harries 14 Seb Stegmann 13 David Johnston 12 Harry Sloan 11 James Cordy Redden 10 Laurence May 9 Jordan Burns 1 Alex Lundberg 2 Matt Cornish 3 Mark Tampin 4 Sam Dickinson 5 Harry Casson 6 Kieran Murphy 7 Rohan O’Regan 8 Rayn Smid ©

Replacements:

16 Alun Walker 17 Jordan Els 18 Elliot Millar Mills 19 Jordan Onojaife 20 Andrew Durutalo 21 Ryan Foley 22 Craig Willis

We're going to get hammered. Pirates have nowhere near that level of physicality. It was our problem last weekend and it's not going to change.

Ealing have been lucky with cup fixtures. Last season they had the quarter final, semi final and final of the B&I cup at their place. This season so far they've had the quarter final and semi final at their place. Proper jammy.
