I wouldn't blame the ref there it was Blues being stupid was the issue! We never indicated we wanted to take 3 points and we kicked it out to end the game. Unbeknown to everyone on the pitch the kicking tee had been sent on.

Are you sure this is true? I’d heard this was the official story that was spun to spare the embarrassment. I was right by where this all happened and I don’t recall a kicking tee being brought on. The ref blew for time when our clock, which doesn’t stop, hit 80 despite considerable stoppages.

Anyway, that’s all in the past now. Haven’t looked forward to a game like this in a while. Think the loss of Jarad will make life difficult and I make Ealing strong favourites. I will be there supporting the team though and looking forward to outnumbering the home support! COYB!

Yes it is true.  I saw the tee being brought on and spoke with the person who took it on.  He said he was surprised they restarted the game as he was only just on the pitch and wasn't sure if it had been spotted.  Hooley was the one who instigated getting the tee on as he was shouting to take the 3 points.

I can't see us winning without Jarad.  I would actually have gone with Tupai at 8 today for the first 40 - 50 mins, as if anyone wants to get a medal to top off his career with Blues it would be him and I am sure he'd be fired up and get the other players to raise their game too!

Et 26 - Blues 9 HT
Four scintillating tries to Ealing against 3 Bedford penalties. The play is much closer than the scores suggest.

Blues missing tackles in first half has cost them dearly. We do like to give teams a start.

Don't ask says Brizzer !
Well it needs to be told.
That was the worst, most inept ten minutes I have ever seen from Jersey.
We bossed the game for seventy minutes, scrum was in the ascendancy, everyone was playing well with confidence and with no weak links.  The game was won with nine minutes left 27 to 9 to Jersey, and then what do we do.
Change the front row who got us into the commanding position, WHY ffs, throw the ball round as if we're playing Sevens, give away silly penalties, make further needless substitutions and the same mistakes with restart kicks.  Anyone who has ever played the game will know that with just a few minutes to go in such an important game , the VERY LAST thing you want to do is give the opposition the ball.
It was an utter brain fade by the Coaches as well as a few key players.  The final score came directly from Cope's restart kick. Just as against Nottingham last week, he wellies it as far as he can and the Leinster No 14 with so much time and space,  beats half a dozen players and from that score , they draw level, and have the conversion to win, duly done.
One of the biggest crowds of the season have every right to be utterly fed up, certainly no one near me was in any mood to cheer Jersey's players off the pitch. Bad decisions by the coaches, needless substitutions and a bonkers few minutes to hand the game to Leinster. I bet the Irish simply couldn't believe their good fortune.
I make no apologies if this sounds angry.
Just pleased that we won't see any more of Cope's stupid restarts for Jersey. Maybe next year, we can catch and score from them when he joins another club and we play against him
Come on Jersey........

Comfortable win. A few easy kicks missed by both teams. Bed ford fans outnumbered Ealing by about 2-1. Thought gate of 1070 seemed a bit low. Rain in 2nd half a bit of a surprise. Wonder where the final will be.

That is overly harsh WC. You may want to review after a good nights sleep.

I've just enjoyed a rather undersized duck breast and very tasty sautéed Jersey Royal potatoes - last of the 2017 crop from this corner of St Ouen so with the benefit of a glass or three of Malbec the carrot view. Jersey could only ever win that game against a wonderfully talented bunch of kids imo if they played ugly. They needed to bully Leinster and run through and over them and they did that for 70 odd minutes but its an 80 minute game. Leinster were faster, fitter, more skilful  & played for 80 minutes and deservedly won imo. Rugby won today. Thank goodness that full back kicked that conversion as if it had gone to extra time it could have been carnage and a huge defeat for Jersey. The coaches can look at the videos and will look at might have beens but well done Leinster and Jersey get over it. I'm going to Donny next Saturday and want more than Cow pie and a great curry. I disassociate myself from WC's remarks about Brendan Cope who imo has had a brilliant season and is probably the best 10 I've seen at this level after Jimmy Gopparth.

A really interesting end to the first half with Jersey granted a series of 5 metre penalties in front of the posts - reminded me of a wet night at Donnybrook a few years ago - but quality from decision making from Jersey to initially take scrums but when they became uncontested due to yellow cards to walk a try in on the right with spare men - probably the best thought out move of the day.

Well, after a very slow start, boy did we get our monies worth yesterday. The 1st 30 minutes was very attritional with 2 very good sides cancelling each other out in mid field and neither side able to break into the 22 with any real meaning. There was 1 huge difference between the sides however, the scrum. Jersey absolutely destroyed Leinsters scrum. I don't think that I have ever seen a team of that quality dominated like that before (Ealing take note) and it completely turned the game. Jersey taking scrum penalties from about 10 metres out and the cards followed, with both props sent to the bin and now uncontested scrums, Jersey started to run in the points and took complete control of the game in all areas. Jersey continued in their ascendancy in the 2nd half and even when back to 15, the Reds were still on top. It was only when we got to the 80 minute mark that the game changed. Jersey's finishers hadn't had the impact that we wanted and we were then reduced to 14 when Joel Dudley limped off and boy did Leinster make the extra man count, running in 3 tries in 5 minutes, the last of which as the clock rolled over to 52 minutes!! and the Leinster 15 broke out hearts with a fine conversion from out wide on the right.
Some of the lads were clearly distraught at the end and understandably so. It is such a shame that for so many fine players this is how their last home experience in Jersey will finish, instead of a final against our great friends and rivals Ealing. Shame on those who could not be bothered to applaud the lads for giving it all and some.

Brizzer sounds like a game full of drama. I for one would have loved an Ealing Jersey final as it would be fittingto end the cup with 2 sides who have followed each other in the leagues and built up a great rivalry along the way.
