Fingers crossed on that one TPT.

I hope that the Irish like it hot. The local forecast showing a max temp of 23 for Saturday with a light F2 breeze from the South East. With the wind direction from there the temperature on the pitch will rocket as it will provide no respite. The Water Boys will be very busy...as will the bar staff

Should be a nice warm day at Ealing too, just right for some running rugby!
It's looking like quite a few of us Blues are coming down so hopefully like a home game.  Hope our defence comes with us and the Ealing-bound players want to sign off with a good showing for us!

In a cracking coincidence, Hanwell Town play Bedford town today in the roundball at 1945 at Powerday stadium (about 400 yards from Vallis Way).

Ok predictions:

I predict Jersey will beat Leinster by 6 tries to 3 in a cracking match on a sunny day at St Peter in front of over 2,600 board banging, roaring & partisan supporters. Leinster will play Sean O'Brien and Johnny Sexton (in the second row) to bolster their pack but it won't be quite enough to prevent a boring Jersey victory. I predict Sean will run out of Guinness and Leinster will narrowly beat Scarlets.

Ealing against Blues is a bit harder to predict but I go for another sunny day and a crowd approaching 3,000 with Blues fans outnumbering the home supporters by a ratio of 3:1. Ultimately I predict five tries to each side with it being decided by a single missed kick by .............

Have a great weekend.

Without Williams at 8 I think we're going to need a bit of a miracle or a couple to really play like superstars.  The difference between Blues and Ealing is the back row.

Okay, Bedford Town beat Hanwell Town 5-0 last night. Not a great augry for Trailfinders.

IMHO Jersey are going with their 1st choice starting XV. No messing about with more impact from the 'finishers', this is 1st choice, get the job done lads from the start. Don't get me wrong, there are some serious players on the bench who have the ability to change a tight game, but clearly the way that we started against Nottingham last week is not how we want to start this week.

Mouth watering prospect head of a sun soaked Jersey tomorrow. The Reds line up is:

Backs (15-9)

Scott Van Breda (co-capt)
Tom Pincus
Apakuki Ma'afu
Mark Best
Jason Worrall
Brendan Cope
Kieran Hardy

Forwards (1-8)

Jake Woolmore (co-capt)
Nick Selway
Jake Armstrong
Jerry Sexton
Rory Bartle
Max Argyle
Conor Joyce
Matt Rogerson

Replacements

Jared Saunders, Roy Godfrey, Leeroy Atalifo, Uili Kolo'ofa'i, Jake Upfield; Joel Dudley, George Eastwell.

I know very little about the Leinster line up, does anybody recognise any of the names from CC's post?

Leinster have a great website with loads on their individual players. Jersey have a significant weight advantage in the pack but Leinster have a huge lineout and will look to attack the home team's ball there. Leinster's midfield defence looks rock solid and the back three will be like playing Bedford - fast and wide. I'm looking forward to seeing the Leinster half backs particularly the scrum half who if the stats are right could qualify as a leprechaun - his nickname is "Choco" and at 72kg and 5ft 5in will invite high tackles. The full back is a very competent place kicker. Should be a good game.

Why on earth are they scrapping the B&I? Bring the Scottish teams back - please.

Because the Championship clubs withdrew. Without B&I and the playoffs, its almost as if they want less games to make money from. Something they always complained to the RFU that they were short of.

I have heard from a well placed source that the RFU has informed Championship clubs of the new cup format for next season, but have placed an embargo on releasing details. I know that this information doesn’t take things very far forward but at least there appears to be something in the offing.

We’ve got the same ref as the one who, in the game against Doncaster, blew for full time early and was forced to restart the game after the players had all shaked hands. It was the biggest farce I’d ever seen on a rugby field. This does not fill me with confidence!

Get over it mate and get down to Vallis Way and enjoy a great game. The match at St Peter tomorrow will have live commentary in the absence of streaming. Is the game at Vallis Way covered by local radio?
