Would you loan players to another local club who are in a similar position to your partner club ,I think not .Having met Jimbo I think he is a robust chap well able to stick up for himself, but I do think its surprising that he has not commented ,which is his choice.
was told ,at the end of 16/17 we will not see you next season but we will the one after .think not otley

Interestingly Sale FC have cried off their 2s game at Fylde. Jimbo when he first joined this board did a robust defence of Sale FC and its plans for the future. Many, myself included took jimbo's views at face value but I think we all thought he was being very optimistic or incredibly naive. There may well be a reason why jimbo hasn't commented yet, maybe he's not party to what goes on behind the changing room door and he is further out of the loop than he realised.

Don't think BE is bullying anyone he like me is surprised that jimbo hasn't commented on something we could see potentially happening way back when jimbo was describing the brave new world at Sale FC in the summer. As mentioned by others I don't thnk Sale FC have done anything wrong in the legal/regulations sense just disappointed most if not all of its fellow Nat 1 Clubs.

Certainly nothing wrong except from a much broader club sustainability viewpoint. Why can't Sale FC find 22 players in such a large catchment area. What are they doing wrong to not attract players?

Caldy were very disappointed when Sale FC were unable to raise a team to play Caldy at Paton Field earlier in the season and the Caldy President raised the issue publicly over lunch in his speech at the recent Caldy v Sale National 1 fixture.

It was an uncomfortable moment for everyone at lunch but to be fair to the somewhat ambushed Sale President he responded with humour and wit, managing  to break the icy silence without actually providing any real explanation of how a club of Sale FC's stature were not able to fulfill a 2nd xv fixture.

I do not know how and why the circumstances surrounding Sale's cry off against Caldy happened but it is troubling that Sale have cried off again. Other posters may not believe that this issue is anything to do with rugby at National 1 level but for me and I suspect a few others it is everything to do with rugby and what the game is all about.

Fair point, I have never met Jimbo but from his previous posts on Rolling Maul he does seem like a robust chap and as far as I am aware he is the only consistent poster from Sale FC on Rolling Maul.

However if someone independent like you Mr Evans fairly believes I am overstepping the mark I will certainly take that onboard, because that is a reasonable and objective indication that perhaps I am.

I would not want to be causing any individual any form of distress and as I do not know anything about Jimbo as a person it is a fair call for me to stop referencing him particularly as his absence from this discussion may be because I have unfairly entwined him with Sale FC's recent actions.

So apologies to all and especially Jimbo if I have overstepped the mark...........I will avoid referencing Jimbo in any future posts on this matter because without knowing his views it probably is unfair for me to do so.

Good man Eddie!

What was the DR turn out today for Sale, must have been a few in there as the Sale side Ive seen this year would not be able to contain Roths pack. Maybe Roth had injuries!

Apparently 2 - see Royal's earlier post. Rotherham missed 10 points from kicks - should have strolled it.  Last weeks 2, 10, 11 ,12 and 14 were all playing against Perpignan 2nds.

It will be interesting to see what sort of team Sale can put out during the international season as Sharks will call on their fringe players and the Under 20 players will also be missing. Sale FC did not put out a 2nd XV against Fylde on Saturday, which is not the first time they have done that much to the annoyance of Fylde, so they do not seem to have much strength in depth, this will be one more step into a merged club, at what point do they lose their independence and credibility as a stand alone club, will Cheshire or the RFU ever decide to accept that is is one club Sale Sharks.

So two DRs each week for two weeks!

Sale FC must be foreseeing a large absence of players in the near future!

As I have said earlier in the thread, I assume this is Diamond trying to ensure the Sharks can reinforce Sale should they look likely to go down.

Reinforce with what?  Presumably those players who have already played with varying amounts of success.

I'm assuming you cant have a further 8 players on top of those who have already played so I assume the identities of who could possibly play are already known. If you can have 16 out of which you can choose 8 then you have a point.

Anyway, are you really suggesting SD will weaken Sharks at the business end of the season so that Sale FC stay up. Sharks want Champions Cup qualification and they won't be sending any surplus South Africans down the road.
