When Nottingham refused to play at St Peter did you not have another venue anywhere in the Channel Islands to play the game?

I was at the ground when Haag called the game off and I was amazed at the decision when the other pitches at St Peter looked playable and most teams would want to play. The heavy pitch would have suited Jersey more than Notts and probably had something to do with Haags decision. Jersey invested in a huge land drain on the main pitch the following close season so although frost is always a risk I would be surprised if excess rain would be an issue. The pitch at Penzance is usually heavy and i would have thought that there would be an alternative venue somewhere in Cornwall given that it is a known problem.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

CC of course there are other pitches in Cornwall but most of them couldn't cope with nearly a 1000 spectators. In any case I'm sure we tried to keep the game down here but the RFU said no it had to be played Saturday at Hartpury. As it so happens we offered to play today and it was a cold but lovely clear day in Penzance today and could easily have taken place. As a result Pirates lost all the revenue for the tie and had the expense of getting to Gloucester. It was a disgraceful decision by the organising committee and won't be forgotten in a hurry.

It would have been brilliant if the game had been moved to Camborne's ground. Really like it there and it can easily hold 1000 spectators.
