Best place for him - well away from the Premiership

8 regular first teamers in the starting 15 and 5 more on the bench hardly a second team. Penalties killed us.

To be fair Bedford looked better than us by a mile, especially in the second half. As you say it was the penalties that did it, much like the league match that went the other way a few weeks ago. Really goes to show how much of a difference a decent kicker makes in those tight games.
Regarding the referee, I don't really think Dean Richards has a clue what he's doing. He rules an excellent pass as forward (prevented a try), then Bedford play quickly off the scrum and Mr Richards completely ignores the blatant forward pass to the winger (which resulted in a score). One of the most inconsistent refs we've had at the Mennaye, never look forward to him coming down.

I think I made it 6 in the starting team (3 - Hutler, Robling, Adamson & 3 Carrick-Smith, Curry, Cooper) and 4 (Care, Penny, Williams, Lane, perhaps Lennon) on the bench, but it doesn't matter it gave some players an opportunity to get a run out which they haven't had so far this season.  We clearly weren't trying to progress so it was a useful run out.

Having Hooley or Sheppard who are kickers was the difference.  Hooley bossed the game at Pirates last time.

Ealing had put out a very strong team and must be disappointed and will need to play better than that away at Jersey !.

Loads of errors but when did anyone last score 6 tries against Ealing away and totally butcher at least 4 more? Great result Jersey but Ealing for all their quality stars surely need a defence coach.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

What have crowds been like in the cup so far? Poor today in Penzance, possibly 1000, just.

I imagine it will be just season ticket holders who will turn up for Blues on Friday.

As an American, thank you for the loan of Hooley this weekend. His boot gave us our first win ever over Samoa.

550 was the official number at Ealing. A lively game, Reds pleased with the win, ET relieved to turn what was a zero-point haul with 4 mins to go into 2 BPs...

It was encouraging to see Ealing have the smarts to get the two points - they've lacked that a few times this season, not taking points when they should. I'd believe 550, but I'd also believe that 200 of them were Jersey supporters, and they brought a cow bell each!

Game at the RAG was like having a bar of soap for a ball. Scots deserved it for enterprise but how they escaped a penalty try at the end with two yellow cards is known only to the ref.
