Knights 5 - 0 Coventry ... Coventry reserves too green for this one. A tough game, but comfortable home win in the end.
ET 4 -1 Jersey ... Both teams to rest players. ET just to have the edge, but another tight fixture against the 'old foe'
Pirates 5 - 0 Blues ... The most entertaining round of the week, however, Bedford have had their injury woes and I think that more players are likely to be rested at this stage. They will be stronger in future rounds.

Apologies, just seen the Jersey squad for this game and clearly Harvey Biljon is taking this game more seriously than I was expecting. Therefore, I would like to amend my prediction for the ET - Jersey game to:

ET 2 - 5 Jersey

Nottingham has decided not to take it too serious by the looks of things.

And I would suspect Brizzers 5 - 0 Knights vs Cov may be tighter than that 4 - 1 or 1 - 4 going to be a decent game by the looks of things.

Oh, and welcome back to the finest ground in the Championship Cov

Ealing Trailfinders team to play Jersey Reds in the Championship Cup on Sunday 11th November:

15 Segundo Tuculet 14 Howard Packman 13 Lewis Jones 12 Pat Howard 11 Seb Stegmann 10 Sam Olver 9 Ryan Foley 1 Jake Ellwood 2 Alun Walker 3 George Davis 4 Harry Casson 5 Jordan Onojaife 6 Kieran Murphy 7 Andrew Durutalo 8 Rayn Smid (c)

Replacements:

16 Matt Cornish 17 Alex Lundberg 18 Ben Betts 19 Ben West 20 Rohan O’Regan 21 Jordan Burns 22 Laurence May

A bit puzzled by this squad. Quite interesting, but not the best squad that they could put out there. I had really hoped to see more of the young lads out there.

Is it because there is a bigger prize fund at the end (unlikely)?

Is it because there are no play off's and for most, this is the real prize for the year?

Is it because the amount of consecutive Cup games means that the gap between league and cup competition is too much and there is a risk of going off the boil?

Is it to keep the crowds rolling in?  Something the B&I struggled to do.

Thoughts?
Great post. I suspect its all of the reasons outlined and I hope they all keep taking it seriously although I doubt if there will be bumper crowds at the matches this weekend with international matches to compete with. Winning the Cup and avoiding relegation is probably the key objective this season for 10 of the clubs in the Championship - it has certainly been my own hope for Jersey's season since opening day - although beating both Irish & Ealing would also be something to aim for.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

I would be surprised if 500 turn up at Huddersfield for our "home" game.
That's easy for you to say.

I think its more a case of having probably the smallest and youngest squad in the division and losing a couple to international call ups they have been sensibly prudent and not risked too many first choice starters. There are 2 loanees from Northampton Saints included as well .

Given that clubs are generally picking strong sides - halleluiah - there should be some great games this weekend. Pirates v Bedford for me still the contest of the round but if I can squeeze an extra few bottles of Liberation Ale in my rucksack on Sunday its going to any Mond or Exile supporter who can swallow his principals and wear a Jersey scarf which I will donate at Vallis Way on Sunday. Hoping for a contest whatever the result.
