After Hartpury's win today, its Richmond back in National One. How do you think they'll perform next season.

If they retain a decent proportion of the current squad they ought to be near the top.
Personally I'd love to see a real shakeup of the Championship at the end of next term, including increasing it to 14 clubs and ditching the awful 'cup'.
Whistling in the wind a bit there.
However, it'd be great to have Mose back (easy trip, big crowds, loadsa money), as well as Roth and Richmond.
I'm sure there will be several others looking upwards too.
Best of luck to Richmond - and I wonder if there are any spare scruples around? If so, please forward them to Partpury Rugby 'Club'.

We’ve got the small matter of staying in N1 to negotiate first....

When the dust has settled I'm sure Richmond and their supporters will in many ways be glad to be back in a proper league.

Richmond have posted an upbeat message on their website pointing out among other things that all their players have other jobs indicating a model more suited to N1 than the Championship. I'd presume they would retain the services of most of their players and be an upper tier side in N1

I'd of thought the same, however some key departures for them already confirmed - Craig Trenier to Ealing & Luc Jones to Jersey. With the relegation I believe they'll retain a core but understandably some may want to remain in the championship, and such will need to source alternative agreements at other clubs. Do Richmond contract their players?

All players in Nat 1 & 2 should be contracted even if they are playing as an amateur

Was told at the weekend one more Richmond forward going full time at the new club in the Premiership. If they all have full time jobs i doubt many/any would want to/be able stay in the Championship as they would be giving up a career for maybe a one year rugby contract. Traditionally they seem to retain the vast majority of their squad whatever league they are in.

Some clubs are developing models of catering for those who want to further their non rugby careers aswell as playing elite rugby - I believe both Bedford and London Scottish are doing this to some extent. With Carnegie, although not practical there could be a new part time option for next season
