Lancashire -one of the most go ahead of the county RFU's- have started a representative team drawn from players from clubs  from level five and below.
The Lancashire Royals kicked off with a match  on Tuesday ( december 27) against the well known invitation side the Anti Assassins at Preston Grasshoppers.
The AA's included  a good smattering of players with national one and two experience but lost out  20 -12 to the county line up.
Lancs are now looking for more suitable fixtures in which to give those  playing in the grass roots of the league structure a chance to get honours.

The Cornwall RFU have had one of these for quite a few years, although I think it may draw its players from lower than level 5. Does this make them a go ahead CB?!? Confused Joking aside, it's a good idea IMO.

more of an excuse for the rfu bods to have a free get together at xmas .The drop of interest in the full county set up does not justify the expense of setting up a 2nd tier
is it stours year yet

So why didn't they play the game at a level 5 or below ground?
