I wonder if the Assessors and citing officials actually attend the game or whether they review the rfu video of the game. The Spice Girl Ref is probably coming in on the direct flight from Dublin this afternoon.

No now CC, that’s a bit naughty. She is actually one of the best refs I’ve seen all season

I fully agree BD and nothing pejorative intended in my post. I hope her international reputation enhances the occasion, she enjoys the day and the players actions allow her to keep everyone on the pitch for the full 80 minutes.

Well, a bit of a damp start in paradise, but there is a good chance that the showers will roll back in time for the game this afternoon.

Jersey 22-10 Doncaster, apparently.
That's easy for you to say.

Yes. My fingers have just about thawed out so that I can work my iPhone.
Very cold (not expected), strong westerly wind, rain with a bit of sleet and ice for the first half an hour.
Not great conditions for this game, but both teams went for it. Jersey with the wind in the 1st half applied the pressure that you would expect, but failed to convert due to some strong defending and some sloppy play. However, Jersey took the lead after some sustained pressure and added to it in the last play of the 1st half.
12-0 ht score and to be honest we didn’t think that it would be enough. However the Reds really turned up in the 2nd half, scoring 2 more tries to a Doncaster penalty and a late try, but Jersey were probably worthy winners, eventually, with 4 tries to 1.
Roll on the semi finals!!!

Apparently Leinster beat Munster 17-6 So Jersey will play Leinster A in the semi finals.

Reds are at home to Leinster on 20/21 April. Hard lines to the Knights, I thought the wind was worth about a dozen points so all to play for at HT, but the home side had a strong second period...

If I am being 100% honest I think that both of Jersey’s first half scores were questionable. The first had a hint of crossing just by the posts, but very hard for the officials to spot. The 2nd was a cross field kick which wasn’t dealt with by the Knights winger very well, but the ball clearly came off the chest of a Jersey player before being grounded. The touch judge would have been unsighted from his position.
I would add that IMHO the ref had a cracking game, one of the best at St. Peter’s this season.

4 tries to 1 doesn't tell the full story of a really competitive full on match at St Peter. IMO the difference between the two sides today was Jersey's defence which was for the umpteenth time this season was brutally efficient and relentless and their phenomenal work rate particularly in the second half. Conor Joyce was my man of the match. These two sides are really well matched and a bounce of the ball or a referee decision going the other way could have made all the difference. I'm delighted and relieved with the win - the class of 17-18 at St Peter may not have the obvious stars of last season but they are achieving way above my original expectations - keep it up lads. Donny were as always a great Championship club who play from start to finish - Clive Griffiths, Matt Challinor, Colin Quigley & Dougie Flockhart are genuine legends. See you in a few weeks at CP lads - I've promised my self a meal at Elachi after the match.

Morning Brizzer. I felt that Jersey had a meticulous plan which was carried out almost to perfection. Matching Mr Q and co. at scrum time was the key for me. Off the chest isn't a knock on so the Referee got it right, as she did virtually everything in the game. Some Knights players had different views it seemed..but she was clear in her explanations. Calm, no-nonsense application of the laws and best officiating so far this season - well done Joy Neville.
