Cov down to 14 men as replacement scrum half Will Flinn goes off injured. You make your own luck, apparently...

Stern alarums on both sides. Ref seemed to want to play Man U time and we finally rumbled over in the corner. 38-14 FT.
That's easy for you to say.

Just saw Blues lost twice today... the game and on travel to the game with only 365 people in attendance the gate receipts will be minimal.

I would be asking for a steward's enquiry. Crowd was poor but not quite that low I don't think!

I'm sure someone from Bedford was made to go count after 20 odd minutes and things were not looking good! Wink

Nearly 10 times the punters at Vallis Way to watch Rugby League today as Union yesterday. Crowds depend on interesting competitions. Which this Cup isn't.

It seems there will be a draw for the semi finals, which seems fair. I wonder how they will decide where the final will be played.

I was interested in this comment so looked up exactly where the England players actually come from/ where they were born.

1. Mako Vunipola.......Wellington NZ
2. Jamie George...... .Welwyn
3. Sinkler.................Wandsworth LONDON
4. Itoje.....................Camden LONDON
5. Krius.....................Guildford
6. Mark Wilson ...........Kendall
7. Tom Curry..............Hounslow LONDON
8. Billy Vunipola..........Sydney
9.  B Youngs...............Norwich
10. Farrell..................Greater Manchester
11. May.....................Chiseldon Wiltshire
12. Tuilagi.................Samoa
13. Slade...................Plymouth DEVON
14. Nowell.................Newlyn CORNWALL
15. Daly....................Croydon LONDON

16. L C Dickie............. TRURO CORNWALL
17. Ellis Genge.............Bristol
18.  H.Williams.............Crystal Palace LONDON
19. Courtney Lawes.......Hackney LONDON
20. Nathan Hughes........Fiji
21. Dan Robson.............Stoke On Trent
22.C Ashton..................Wigan

I make that two Cornish born players ..........but six players born in LONDON !

I like Luke Cowen Dickie the Cornish born player but he missed that tackle for the last Irish Try !

Best England performance for a long time and a bit early I know but gives real hope for the World Cup

So, if the figures are to be accepted as reasonably accurate, under 1500 souls attended two quarter finals today.
Pretty pathetic.
I'm sure it'd have been different had they been played at the BPA and Goldington Road.
Shameful mish-mash of a competition that needs putting out of its misery. Sharpish.

Don't think he was born in Cornwall, so that won't increase their 2.

Not particularly difficult - 267 is a paltry attendance that Trailfinders should be ashamed of.

The profile of this cup is summed up by the official Championship website. The only mention of it is buried in the news section. What it does say is that there will be a draw for the semi finals.

Not sure who does marketing for FDR but they are not doing a great job.

The obvious solution it to drop the cup and expand the Championship to 16 sides.

You would retain Hartpury, and get Ampthill, Blackheath and Rosslyn Park in addition to Old Elthamians - and on current form it is hard to put a fag packet between the four of them in terms of playing strength.

It would save Moseley and Esher from relegation and stop the rest of us worrying about our NAt 1 status.

Of course, unless you can find a generous sponsor, it would mean taking £150k less each from RFU funds.
