Burton v Derby (Fri) = HW Local "derby" but it will be a Burton win

Bournville v Luctonians = AW Luctonians will be running around the plastic, regularly going across Bournville's line, like scalded cats.

Bridgnorth v Lichfield = HW Bridgnorth will have been contemplating their navels after last week's whitewash and will come back with a winning game plan

Broadstreet v Doncaster = HW might be tight, dependant on how many Knights players are around....

Scun-thorpe v Nuneaton = HW Run in the park for Scunny - Nuneaton will see very little "good" ball

Sheffield v Newport = AW Could be tight, Newport cannot really afford to lose this game......

Syston v Sandbach = HW Syston will not let their foot off the gas and will dispatch the "Cheshire Set" with some ease.

This weekโ€™s guesses

Burton v Derby HW Burton did a job on Derby on the plastic pitch.
Bournville v Luctonians AW Lucs need to win to keep the pressure on โ€˜Street & Newport
Bridgnorth v Lichfield HW โ€˜North at home should do one on the hapless Lich and both need it for different reasons
Broadstreet v Doncaster Phoenix HW Broadstreet to keep the pressure on for the 2nd spot
Sunny Scunny v Nuneaton HW Going good this week at Heslam Scunny weather as well but wonโ€™t be as easy as some are predicting
Sheffield v Newport (Salop) AW Newport need this to keep the pressure on but Sheffield very good at home with only one loss.
Syston v Sandbach HW Syston appear to be improving Sandbach struggling at the moment.

Burton v Derby HW - both teams are going through a poor run. Home advantage swings it

Bournville v Luctonians AW - Lucs should have too much and need to winn to keep up with the leaders

Bridgnorth v Lichfield HW - last weeks shock defeat for 'north will be no help to Lichfield who are being dragged down into the relegation battle

Broadstreet v Doncaster AW - boyed by last week's performance (and loans from Knights)

Scun-thorpe v Nuneaton HW - regulation home win

Sheffield v Newport HW - Sheffield are a different prospect at home

Syston v Sandbach HW - going with the form side

Feeling sorry for whoever plays Syston next - the Great Escape seems very much on with other struggling clubs in freefall!!

I very nearly got myself an "empty" house!!! At least it proves I'm a bit smarter than the 2p coin I used

I still find it very difficult to believe that the coin toss favoured Salop as it didnโ€™t seem to on the pitch. Verified or otherwise

Week 20 results

Burton 33-10 Derby (Fri)

Bournville 27-29 Luctonians

Bridgnorth 31-15 Lichfield

Broadstreet 23-21 Doncaster

Scun-thorpe 38-25 Nuneaton

Sheffield 15-13 Newport

Syston 52-10 Sandbach

The Friday night game saw Burton consolidate their league status and at the same time deepen their nearest neighbours predicament in the relegation zone. The home spectators must have thought that the chocolate boys were dead and buried when the score was 3-29 to Luctonians but the hosts nearly pulled off a spectacular turnaround to earn themselves 2 bonus points. Lichfield are precariously poised above the relegation spots after another defeat, this time away to Bridgnorth. Broadstreet left it to the last to secure their lead over the ever-improving Doncaster, a penalty with the final kick of the game snatching victory away from the visitors. Scunny consolidate their lead at the top after a tough battle with Nuns, who twice lead the encounter before Scunny ran away with it. Newport lost for the second week in a row as they leaked a late try to succumb to Sheffield.Syston despatched visitors Sandbach with their most comprehensive display of the season but it may be too little, too late for the Leicestershire team.

No full houses this week but plenty of 7โ€™s. At the top, Bin Licker is joined by One for the Ditch in joint 3rd place and the top 2 still as they were.
