Thanks to FP for putting the table together so swiftly and we crack straight on with the next round of matches on Saturday 16 February. They are;

Barnstaple v Exeter University
Bracknell v Cleve
Brixham v Camborne
Newton Abbot v Ivybridge
Old Patesians v Exmouth
Weston-super-Mare v Maidenhead
Bournemouth v Drybrook

There are some real tasty ones with a couple of Devon derbies and tough trips on the road for Cleve and Maidenhead, again. The Bracknell v Cleve is a real tussle as it could open up a gap to the bottom 3. I'm going to say that this is one of the toughest weeks and don't reckon we'll see any bonus points...

Cheers

It is rumoured and alleged that N Abbot have decided to stop paying players - consequently players are leaving and not playing - at least 4 yesterday at Exmouth including the captain!!
apparently it is all to do with money - what price club loyalty??

We had 2 teams in Midlands premier last season who stopped paying players both went down and one of whom looks to be going down one further. There is no such thing as club loyalty for players who travel for money I'm afraid. Ouch

This weeks guesses.

Barnstaple v Exeter University HW Barum strong at home, Uni form team but not too good on the road
Bracknell v Cleve HW very marginal this especially with little between the teams in the league & Bracknell have only lost twice at home this season.
Brixham v Camborne HW Fishermen back on it after a few close defeats and are better at home than Camborne are away despite the new signing.
Newton Abbot v Ivybridge AW Ivybridge back to it after a poor run of form. Nabs unfortunately have taken the route that suits them best and if it keeps them sustainable that's what counts.
Old Patesians v Exmouth AW  Exmouth have had 2 away draws against good sides I daren't sit on the fence for fear of splinters.
Weston-super-Mare v Maidenhead HW Think WSM just marginally better at home than Maids away just hope I don't finish up having a mare
Bournemouth v Drybrook HW Bournemouth to strengthen their grip on the title although Drybrook hitting a good patch of form.
There you go CM all sorted and no splinters LOL

You'll notice I've not put my usual logic and comments after the results I'd got them already and then had to dash out to a job so my intention was to go back in and edit them. It was bad enough getting splinters in my fingers last week. Don't need any more.

Dont want to leave too late, so hear goes;

Barnstaple v Exeter University - With the ground drying out, could a tight one but Barum to nick it
Bracknell v Cleve - Cleve have done well recently and should take this depending on the team they take up the M4
Brixham v Camborne - Going to be a cracking match
Newton Abbot v Ivybridge - Too strong in this Devon derby
Old Patesians v Exmouth - But might be closer than you think
Weston-super-Mare v Maidenhead - Maids to pip this one, just.
Bournemouth v Drybrook - Bournemouth to prevail

Cheers

Think Newton's woes may continue as Mr Jess may or may not have resigned with immediate effect, depending upon which report you listen to, clearly some issues.

Barnstaple (would love to be wrong, but now BUCS fixtures have recommenced, Barum will be too powerful)
Bracknell (with a couple of new signings, will beat the drop now)
Brixham (great win last week, home advantage key)
Ivybridge (if rumours are to be believed, Newton Abbott are in disarray. There could well be some very good players available to other Devon sides...)
Exmouth (close game. Improved Pats good at home, but I was impressed with Exmouth when we played them recently)
Maidenhead (we need this if we have any hopes of catching Barnstaple)
Bournemouth (close one I reckon)

Maidsboy.

A cracking game to watch for the neutral and allthough your boys must be gutted having to settle for a draw with the last play of the game I thought it was a fair result.Unfortunatly I had to shoot off so couldn't stop for a beer but good luck for the remaining games.

And the final results are:

Bournemouth 34-10 Drybrook
Barnstaple 42-36 Exeter University
Bracknell 10-17 Cleve
Brixham 27-38 Camborne
Newton Abbot 7-38 Ivybridge
Old Patesians 20-31 Exmouth
Weston-super-Mare 27-27 Maidenhead

Congrats to Cleve on the away win and opening up a 2 point gap to the drop zone but looks like the WSM v Maids draw has stuffed any chance of bonus points.. The top 2 teams march on and Barum retain a 7 point gap over Ivybridge. This league is now becoming very tight!!

Cheers

Well fellow predictors sorry for the wait but my laptop has given up the ghost so I am working in manual. Another week where a draw has put the kybosh on any full houses. Fence sitting looks to be a good habit in league. This week 2 C’s have beaten 2 B’s and that really is the difference between the 4’s and 5’s, our performers this week are Chipping man, Fat Bear, Simba, Simon the assessor and Simba     . While the other end of the scale are Blub and Trftrf with 3 . Not much change in the league, there are going to have to be quite a few full houses now to catch Red Pete but the rotund lady isn’t singing yet but only 6 matches to go it is going to be difficult. Hopefully this time working in manual I’ll have everyone in. The league is such fingers crossed. A week off now and down to the Principality we will go. Come on England.
