Wharfedale V Kirkby Lonsdale on saturday should be very interesting.  KL with a lot of new signings and a terrific track record last season, While 'Dale have lost a couple of big players and seem to have the world and his dog on Holidaying/Stag Weekending/Farmering/Cricketing   (delete as appropriate).

Whatever; I am hugely looking forward to watching some decent sport again.

I`ve noticed there is a 4 way `tournament`at Macclesfield tomorrow.  Macc, Sedgley Par, Caldy & Readinghengians.  Be interesting to see how newly promoted Caldy fare against relegated Macc and last seasons rivals, Sedge.

Quite looking forward to seeing Sale FC at Cov in a week or so. Don't think they've ever met before - well not in their current guise anyway. Should be quite revealing for both sides.

Assuming that is Redingensians it will be interesting to see how they get on against the North.

I presume it will be 30 or 40 minute games all round?

As they are my 'dark horse' for next season...I will also be interested in their own 'tournament'  on 19th with Barnes and Bridgend

Sheffield RUFC taking on Rotherham Titans at Abbeydale Park (7pm start) and latest score is Sheffield 0 Titans 38
It is not commonly known that a Yorkshireman invented the original cure for sea sickness.....they leant over the side of the boat with a five pound note in their mouth.

A steady team, improving each year - however I don't see them challenging the likes of big spending Chinnor and BSE

Not a bad game.. lots new faces for Fc and gelled fairly well with lots of changes. think Jed won 3 tries to 2 which I think was a fair result, but was impressed jeds defence .... reminded me of Elthamians last season. As for Sale ...prediction...mmmmmm.....they will come in the top one WinkWinkWinkWink

Unfortunately I was not able to be at the match. However, even if it was only a PSF with entire teams being changed at half-time it is still an eye-catching result to beat the team who finished 8th in the Welsh Premiership last season

AP

As we all know Caldy will have it tough next season but yesterday performance by them, as was the case with Mac, and Sedge yesterday (sorry I do not enough about Rams playing strength) was that most of the Caldy main squad was missing for whatever reason, so you cannot make any real assessment from yesterday's games from any of the teams on show.

I do wish Caldy well next season, it's going to be very tough for them but yesterday was all about getting as many players possible a stage further to match fitness no more no less.

Have to say Mac put on a good tournament and a good day out.

All the best

ST

Sheffield tigers 1st & 2nd team went to Harrogate yesterday for there first run out and both played 3 x 60 minutes, in two very entertaining and well fought games.

2nd went down 19 - 12 and 1st won 24 - 12.

Great day at rudding park, thourghly looked after as always. Pleased for tigers, 2 of the new lads in Curtis Wilson & Greg mellor got on the score sheet, with mellor MOTM. Another newbie jake lamb added extras with his boot at 10 with old boys Broadley & Liam Wallace adding the other 2 tries.

New lads in the forwards impressed also so good day out all round.

Very positive for both teams and with tigers missing 6 or so senior players we went home very happy with the first game.

Big thanks to "gate" and hope you have a good season, they looked good yesterday and organised.

Stunn7ung display of fitness and defensive skills.

How long were the matches?
