I think our fellow enthusiasts would be surprised at the relatively low churn rate of our first team, all without access to professional rosters!

If an ex-prop doe t know how to ref a scrum there isn't any hope for the majority of refs

I imagine that would have been early in his refereeing career, from what I have seen he is better than most of the 'up and coming' young refs.

RJV your wish is my comand I have added the number of caps according to statbunker - note this only covers National league and higher.

Nwakor (14) 77
Vaughan-Edwards (12) 45
Doran Jones (14) 15
Mills (11) 13
Gillanders (17) 25
Frampton (14) 82
Ellis A (11) 20
Spencer (10) 32
Gash (7) 122
Leonard (10) 63
Amesbury (8) 22
Munro (13) 13
Grove (13) 48
Hayhow (11) 12
Weir (9) 58

Gibson (2) 10
Maguire (8) 8
Tizard (3) 3
Laventure (12) 15
Fadahunsi (2) 2

I would point out Cambridge had one player with 115 caps and another with 90 playing for the 2nd XV - Darren Fox and George Bretag Norris.

Camquin, Its refreshing to read the stats and thanks for your time. I would have been disappointed in Park if the rumours had been true and Im so glad theyre not. They brought their A-team to us and they put the newbies on the bench and on a different day they could have easily run back west as the victors. OEs would have numbers similar in terms of caps, we've recruited for sure but there's a spine within the team which still exists from its upper regional promotions. I'll be honest, I dont want them to win promotion, it seems to be very unsettled up in the championship with a seemingly pointless cup competition and inexplicable rest periods. I know its been said before but whos putting these things together, another topic for another forum Im sure.

JRV, the championship section has some very interesting threads on the total mess occurring at the moment.

For sure! Ive been reading them and its quite the saga isnt it! Its the league where you either go in or go home and it seems to be breaking more clubs than not. Like I say, Im not sure i want to be part of it! Dont think we'd be invited with our current ground anyway, which I love by the way. Semi pro sport with only a rope to separate! Love it!!

I'll stick my neck out and say Ampthill will win the title and OEs will be second.

Agree the current OEs ground has some charm. You can get close to the action separated by only a rope and are free to wander around the entire field and follow play close up (only ever not possible in my experience when Blackheath are the visitors and the hordes descend)

College Meadow would not meet the current Nat 1 standards if they ever go back to inspecting each ground again as they used to do every year. There may be comments about distance from pitch to changing rooms at Ampthill and Bishops Stortford. I do believe that it is something that the NCA are currently looking to reenforce
