Definitely  a set back for Loo but BP are the form team in the bottom half.

Big night at Racing Club Mike GC?

I was in New Zealand but I do know that the Clubhouse wasn’t hired out last weekend (fortunately a rare occurrence) I suspect that there would have been some serious imbibing

Big game on March 9th when our dear friends Waterloo come to Varley Park.

I suppose there may be further defections to the Lancashire League which might "save" one or two but even if it did those clubs would effectively be playing at a level higher than their true ability which wouldn't be great preparation for future years should a promotion come along. Suggestions on other threads are that other regions are likely to follow the Lancashire model - thus entering the realms of pure social rugby with no route open to rise up the RFU pyramid (unless they choose to return at a later date - entering at rhe very bottom I would imagine)

The 'panel' seem hell bent on destroying what is working reasonably well across most of the North.
They have made no mention of the breakaway Lancashire clubs. Yet they, and the accompanying issues, were the reason for this current review.

It would also now appear they have been telling different regions different proposals and suggestions as they've gone round on the follow up. They had a very uncomfortable evening at the recent Yorkshire presentation. And rightly so.

With regards to clubs re-entering the RFU leagues, they seem to suggest they can re enter back where the were. Quite how that would work i don't know, and i suspect, neither do they.

So a club that has stayed true to the RFU league system would have to be relegated to accomsdate a "rebel" wishing to return at the level from which they left?
Not thought it through have they (as per usual)
Considering the main issue is clubs not wanting to take on extra travelling that promotion inevitably brings why can't those clubs be offered the option of staying where they are? (Just one club less relegated from league above - not exactly rocket science)

A cynic could easily take the view that of the options put forward, it conveniently reduces the transport expenses the RFU have to stump up. And yet, some clubs have checked out their new mileages (based on the options) and whilst the RFU contribution they receive to travelling magically disappears, the clubs overall mileage increases.

Great result on Saturday for the Saints. Well deserved and a long time coming. Although results might seem to suggest otherwise but Saints have been really competitive in most games and given a good account of themselves. With the new development now underway things are starting to look up for the club. Next couple of games should produce better results for the boys which I am really looking forward to. When will Monty9 suspension be up??

I’ve seen them play home and away against Burnage.
I think that win was always on the cards, they certainly never gave up the fight .

Rugby resumes tomorrow after a wee off. I predict the following teams will win. Blackburn, Anselmians, Manchester, Penrith, Stockport, Carlisle and De La Aalle.
Any thoughts?

Some close contests though. Have Blackburn recruited a few from Fylde recently? Think they will make 2nd spot there own, but still a three horse race for that spot or more in the mix?

Big game for Waterloo, marmaduke what reasons you going with Anselmians?

Enjoy your rugby, going to be wet and windy!!

I just think Anselmians are in better form at the moment and unless Waterloo show improvement, Anselmians will win.

Interesting selection for tomorrow. Seems the move to centre is at least semi-permanant...
