How often, on average, would a National 1 player be drug tested?

No idea how often the tests take place but the ADUK team randomly turned up at our Club a few weeks ago, I think it was at Thursday night training before the first match of the season.

About 4 years back we had a pre-season visit plus a training session mid season, one Home game and one Away game. On game Saturday's players from both sides were tested

Why ask unless you have things to hide

If they find a positive then fantastic it is another idiot looking at a long time ban

It’s meant to be random, in fact so random we have had a visit on the Thursday before the first league match for the past 4 years. There is also a difference in what happens, in a training session 5 players are selected plus 2 reserve but if in a match it is 2 per side plus a reserve from each side. Memory fades but I know we have been tested at least once a year in recent years. So based on our experience I would say there is a chance for once a year but it again is a random selection using numbered cards unless there has been intel and a specific player is requested. So a Nat one player could go his career without being tested or could end up being tested every year as his name is always drawn

I know it's not really the place to carry on with this discussion but I now see that a player at Lincoln RUFC has been banned from all sport for 4 years following a failed drug test. Sad.

Kiwi Hooker James Douglas Signs For Mowden Park

Darlington Mowden Park are delighted to announce the signing of James Douglas for the remainder of the 2019/20 National One season. The New Zealander arrived in the UK earlier this week and is in line to make his DMP debut this weekend against Old Elthamians at the Arena on Saturday (3pm Kick Off).

Douglas joins the club from Australian side Queanbeyan Whites, who compete in the ACT Premier Division. The 26 year-old has recently been representing Super Rugby side ACT Brumbies as part of their Development XV. Following his move the UK, the front rower was looking forward to pulling on the Mowden shirt: “I’m excited to be joining DMP. Obviously they have a good history, and have had a decent run in recent years. Upon arrival I’m just trying to find my feet, and find where I can help contribute to the club and the boys, so we can try and finish top of the ladder this season.”
