Was at Club today, shame about the result, after the Lord Mayors Show ?
It is a decent ground now and should the unexpected happen, would it be Championship standard ?

Yes, what the paying public don’t see is the infrastructure around it such as medical rooms and gyms etc. If required additional parking can be added but train station only 5 minute walk, good local amenities within a few minutes walk.

Mentioning no names, can a team be denied promotion to the Championship because of sub standard facilities ?

Yes, there are ground criteria and there are a few teams that don’t meet the criteria of Nat one from a few years ago where there were annual inspections. Funnily I was talking about this yesterday and it would appear that ground standards are back on the NCA agenda

There are criteria - see section 5 'Grounds' in the doc below, but they aren't especially onerous...

https://www.englandrugby.com/mm/Document/General/General/01/33/10/14/ChampionshipRegulations2018-19_English.pdf

NCA used to solicit information from possible candidates for promotion at around this stage of the season - not sure if that still happens?
