I will break the silence(my boat sunk !!!)Brixhams new signings......

Martin Browne..No8 Returns to Brixham after moving back to Torbaydos
Jason Luff... Arrives at Brixham to continue his RFU work and coaching skills.
Russ Morris.. Makes the difficult trip sometimes in choppy waters to strengthen the front row from Torquay (this has taken a lifetime)
Andy (Gobby)SanderHuckleberry..Reported as signed for Exmouth earlier,(not sure about that)from Paignton,No9 and quality kicker.

That's Brix, as I am sure most of you knew already(Twitter trolls), come on spill your beans the rest of you.... or at least clarify what we all know already.

A couple of signings for Rams, 2nd Row from Reading + a couple of others, also some returning players from afar or so I'm told. Training numbers look good so far. I've signed on for one more season on the touch flag, so looking forward to the away trips.

Hope you negotiated hard Jester?

All very quiet from Barum, obviously we have had slight change in the coaching set up, but no news on players yet, I am led to believe training has been good with high numbers.

I know they were talking to numerous players, but which club isn't!

Hi Gents,

Hope you're all enjoying the Summer although I know our Groundsman's not!! Our Ground resembles the colour of a Prawn Korma and you've got as much chance of grass growing on it as well....

Preperations are going well and new Head Coach, Danny Thomas (Plymouth, Taunton and Barum) is fitting in very quickly. Had over 50 at pre-season training and had a number of good new players rock up. Don't know what this 'signings' stuff is all about but we've had some good guys decide they'd like to play for us including a good Dings player and others from local Clubs.

Pre-season fixtures include a trip up to Tring RFC and then our version of Super Saturday on the 31st. 1st's take on Cinderford (OK, their United side); 2nd's face a challenge in Wootton Bassett 1st XV and the Development Squad (who narrowly lost to Westcombe Park in the National U18's Final) face Bishops Wordworth. Finished off with a Cider Festival and live band!!

Looking forward to the season ahead and I think it will be a very tough league again.

If everyone's OK with it, I'll post the first round of games played 7th September on August 25th and try and get/encourage contributors from every Club in the league plus the usual guys who've moved into other leagues like Dwinn, Maggers, Danny Boy, Norge, Inn Continent, Mighty Quin etc...

Is Barum Boy going to be back Predicting this coming season? I don't think I'm going to have the time to update the spreadsheets I'm afraid, work is manic & likely to stay that way for the foreseeable.....

& our pitches are looking pretty green at the moment. We invested in a bore hole about 4 seasons ago, this is the first summer we've used it to any degree. Pain in the backside to move the pipes, but excellent weight training for the teams who are back training!

Good to see Danny is still involved with rugby, has he moved to the Chippenham area?  Are Sams Saunders & Alford still involved?

Hi RedPete,

Yep, Danny has moved up to this neck of the woods and liked what he saw in Chippenham. Its great that Dale Burn has stayed on and is focusing on the Backs.

Sam Saunders is playing and had a great season last time. Sam Alford came back to Chippenham (where it all started) at the start of last season but did his shoulder in playing the first match against Nabbot and he then missed the rest of the season. Hopefully he will be around this season.

Hope your boys have a good season and the well documented off field stuff doesnt have an impact but thats for another lenghty thread!!

I'd heard that Alfie had sustained a nasty injury in the opening game, hope he gets back to full fitness, he impressed at Taunton and would fit in well here as I gather we are without our first choice scrum half until November (no, I'm not trying to poach him).  Sam Saunders was a big mate of Charlie Walker-Blair when they were both at Taunton (they were nicknamed "The Rednecks").  CWB has signed for Sale Sharks though I'd heard he'd picked up a nasty shoulder injury too.

The less said here the better, as you say there's plenty to read about in another thread!  I don't want to be accused of hijacking this thread!  We have some talented youngsters here who, having got a years experience at level 4, should be a match for most teams on hard dry pitches.  May be another story when the winter kicks in, we'll have to see.
