Chinese Dave, I hope you didn't book the Premier Inn near Clifton because if you did you will be sleeping in ashes - it was burnt down only a few weeks ago.

I see there is some interesting banter regarding the TJ's v Lions encounter on the predictions thread. these first up games are interesting and in the case of new teams.....unpredictable.  Both teams will of course be looking to lay a marker down for the season and very physical confrontations are to be expected. Sometimes, the degree of this physicality comes as surprise to the promoted sides (not relevant here).

In this particular case, it will be interesting to see how the TJ's backs perform outside of their new half back partnership.  i am assuming that (now that their website confirms that they have somehow completed the signing of Matt Walsh),  that Robinson and Walsh will combine at half back. I THINK that both have previous championship experience and they should be a formidable combination.  there are a lot of very good half backs in this league, but they will take some beating methinks.

Best of luck though Lions !

We did indeed book the Premier Inn in Cribbs Causeway which subsequently burned to the ground, but have been relocated to another Premier Inn at Filton so will still be coming. Thumbs Up

Matt Walsh and Will Robinson are the halves tomorrow according to the TJ release - Another ex-Raider, Coxon-Smith also features in the back line.

Man of the match in the TJs Leicester Lions game was Matt Walsh I believe.

The new partnership came up trumps then?! Looking forward to seeing those two combining more. Very exciting! Except at Dry Leas

Hello Hawky........I see you are quite new to the forum .......so welcome from me at least.  I see from your profile that you are also quite conflicted.......marking yourself as a Raiders/Hawks fan ?  You also seem to reside in Rams territory, which must also be tempting from a supporters standpoint.

Clearly, you will be aware that Raiders and Hawks are arch enemies with a long history now, so it must be difficult having this split allegiance ?  That said, that Burden chap (the Hawks) is now a secret Choppers fan so you are not alone.Tongue

My dear old Darth Raider!
Happy new season to you. I will not be at dry leas to buy you a pint when you are up, alas I am away in France for nearly 3 weeks, next season we will be in Nat 1, so maybe the year after!! 😂😂😂😂

That's OK Nick......you can buy me two pints down at the Recreation ground when I visit  !!   I assume you are away on an important scouting trip for Choppers in France ?

You may well be correct about my next visit to Dry Leas.......your lot do have a big chance of a top 2 place this season......so i am expecting some more taunting as the season develops OuchBig smile
i've started a Status thread for this year.......should be an ideal medium for subsequent taunting .
Enjoy your season.......can you beat TJ's ?
