Might have to revise my top 3. Taunton seem to be doing some good business!

Yes, Dan Lee is a great signing for us, as is Jordan Petherbridge deciding to stay. Dan was skipper last time he was with us and I would guess is a shoo-in for the role again. I gather Jack Arnott has also signed for us though winger is not a position I would have thought Taunton need to strengthen.
I can't see Taunton really improving until they bulk-up their front 5.
I'd be wary of reviewing your predictions just yet (not a bad shout for early May though).
Schadenfreude - such a big word for something so small-minded

I suppose Titans have time to strengthen further, but at present, I would agree with RedPete.  While they will be there or thereabouts most of next season, I think that if they want to finish in the top 2, they need to be able to impose their playing style against the best teams in the league, AWAY from the Commsplus.

Another issue is the slightly fluctuating standard of Nat2S.  IMO, it generally just gets stronger, but again just IMO, last season was a slight step back in terms of strength in depth.

I suspect that this upcoming season will be very strong again.
My gob will be seriously smacked if TJ's, Henley and Taunton don't improve on last year.  Esher are an unknown to me but I expect them to be very competitive.  It sounds like Redruth will be a better side this year and even my lot, having the benefit of being a year older and with the return of some long term injured, will likely be a stronger side.

OA's, BSE and Clifton ?  I would be surprised if any of them go backwards.

Then take Barnes, Dings and Old Reds......bringing up the rear........all of whom had 8 or 9 LBP's.  That means just change those results by 7pts or less and they are all top 6 ?

None of this augurs well for the promoted sides.  It is going to be attritional physically and away wins will be like hens teeth.

I can't wait........is it September yet ?  LOL

If rumours are anything to go by, a uniquely tall winger could be returning to the South Coast. With Barlow returning also, a revival for Raiders on the horizon?

I heard on the 7s circuit that Worthing might be losing some players. Any truth to the matter Darth ?

MCNRY/Clueless...........I am not a club insider so never know about comings or goings.

The uniquely tall winger sounds interesting ?   If it is the chap I hope it is, then I knew he would be coming back at least once, but would be playing for Esher .  Hope it's true.......apart from being a more than decent winger, he is a great bloke.

I have not heard of any leaving.......we had a couple of retirements but I had thought that the squad were all signing again.   Maybe other Raiders posters know more.

If we do have the same squad, I confess I would be disappointed in finishing lower than 6th.

Haven't heard anything apart from what has been posted in the last couple of days. If the winger is who you believe it might be that will give us 2 of the best wingers in the division.

Rumours in the M4 corridor that Boyland has finished at university and may be returning to his old Bristol club, whichever one that is

Hi Pilier (and welcome to the forum).......if what you say is true, then that would be sad for us.  Sam is a talented lad with a great attitude and was deployed, pretty much as a utility back during the tougher times this season......at 9, 11 and 14 IIRC.

That said.....he did not make the bench once our injury situation improved. There is a great deal of competition in that area at The Rugby Park.  If he IS going, I for one wish him the very best, he made an admirable contribution as far as I am concerned ClapClap

If Sam Boyland is heading back west then I assume Clifton would be the destination. (Although assumption is the mother......)

His brother and both parents have played for the Lavender and Blacks
Here we go

If Sam is off to Clifton, he may become yet another ex-Raider we will be facing this upcoming season.

Ben Henderson at Rams has now gone (good riddance !!  Pain in the sideWink), but........

Alex WilHuckleberryson at Leicester Lions
Finlay Coxon-Smith at TJ's
Sam Boyland at Clifton
Sam Hewick at Old Reds
Karym Irving at Esher

There are a lot of ex-Raiders about........I watched three in the recent England v Barbarians game......Marler/Marchant and Piers O'Conor.

If the uniquely tall winger's initials are KI then I believe he's gone to Blackheath!

MCNRY - any clues as to the identity of this 'uniquely tall winger' or is it pure conjecture?

I do like the rumour mill going around. Quiet down here, we have got Alan A back after injury. I have heard we have a very talented player who is too young for the championship signed for us with a great prospect, so watch this space!
