Sounds great acro prop Caldy were on fire last year and the Nat 2 South sides will always be tough in playoffs so make sure you come out of the blocks straight away. Give my regards to prop Idol and hope both your lads and Sale have a great season.

cheers Tulip....I always thought we had a couple weaknesses in the team last season preventing us being the complete team, I'm glad to say those have been remedied and other positions strengthened. Looking at training last night the fitness levels for so early on in pre-season was impressive.... lets just hope they gel now.

Hi top Ref

Henri is coming on just fine thanks .... He wants to be avalible for the first game but the physio I'd cautious about letting him play, so time will tell .... Still 4 weeks.

We have a couple off surprises in the back line that may raise so eye brows !!!!

To be honest although I am now following Caldy in National 1, I still know a lot more (which isn't saying much) about N2N so I will watch the season unfold with interest. My good friend Pen 15 thinks it is Sale's to lose and I think he is probably right.

Sale have lost early against Sedge and I think that may be their only defeat this season. Hinckley, Tynedale, Stour and Macc will push them close and South Leicester could just cause them problems away from Heywood Road but I still expect Sale to win 90% of their matches with a bonus point.

The other sides just wont get anywhere close to them.

If they don't win the league at a canter there will be something seriously amiss

After playing them this week I think you are correct BE.

The bench is so so strong and when you can afford to have the likes of Chris mayor, Dan Birchall and Adam Aigbokhae on the bench who wouls start in every national 2 team and most National 1 teams it's hard !

They made it perfectly clear that they want championship within 3 years, they had 7 "A" league players playing and EVERYTHING even the ball boys and Trickys body warmer were branded "sharks"

However this is not a dig and fair play. They are passionate about the growing M&J section run by the passionate mad Scotsman. (There were kids everywhere Saturday with a gourd of honour) They are building a 250 seater conference room to hire out with full balcony over the pitch. The have a full time rugby development officer that is going into schools coaching with a free car and £20000 per year package. The club house has had a very nice refurb and looks great. They have a new full time club steward. They are running a second team which is a first. They have all the "A" games there and the pitches are hired out over the summer to rugby league teams so the club is busy all year round.

They are going places and should storm this league, no doubt about it. However it's not without hard work and some very passionate people ..... Oh and the moooooooosive bank balance helps !!!!! But how many clubs have you seen have the big balance after selling the crown jewels and be broke within 5 years ?!?!?! Not this savy lot !!!!

Fair fooks in my book !

Suspect there will be serious questions asked if they don't do it this year.

Given that ;there may just be a few surprises for them from teams that with little to lose may just give it a go. Its a tough league and there may just be the odd banana skin lurking.

As  a matter of interest ref Tiger Domes comment above . How can they have 7 A league players?

Good comments Tiger Dome.

I agree that Sale appear to be making good use of their resources and why not. Every other club would do the same if they were as blessed as the Heywood Road boys.

It will be fascinating to watch the results in National 2 North this season and I am sure that every other side will take each game against them as a massive test. If Sale win the league with every other team committed and fired up in the matches against them they will have deserved it.

Any team that can afford to leave Adam Aigbokhae on the bench must be stuffed full of talent.............very few players at any level could play at prop (either side) any number in the back row and also on the wing and be dynamite in all positions............seriously strong, seriously quick and a top bloke as well!

I was super impressed with Hinckley last season and Sedge, Stour and South Leicester will also be up there but it will be very hard to compete against Sale's Championship level infrastructure and playing resources...............and unfortunately I suspect that Sale will be visiting Dore Moor in the Spring sunshine which will suit them.....pity it isn't mid winter!

They have access to a formidable line up through their very close association with Sale Sharks and in addition they have a number of other players with top flight experience. No other team at level 4 can really compete with Sale as far as resources go. (and probably few at level 3 or level 2!)

TD2, they (Sale FC) have run a 2nd XV with various levels of success for many years, in fact since their inception so hardly a first!

FC are the perfect storm. The only club I can think of that can have it's cake & eat it. However, imho Sharks are beginning to grate on several around the NW region.
