Some really big reults today and some "shocks". Can i ask, do teams now get a Bonus point for every try they score and 4 for a win?

Just checked the RFU tables and Hull are already on 17 points (they could be safe by the end of September at this rate!)

Hull 83 - 8 Burnage
Ilkley 0 - 65 Sheffield Tigers

Just what the doctor ordered for Loo today... Any info? I know Benjamin Button got a hat trick.
Wow...what an introduction for Ilkley... I'm sure they'll learn from that.
Burnage....Ouch

Great showing from 'Loo today with a shuffled backline; Liam at fullback, Dr Masters on the wing and young Robins getting the nod at stand-off. He had a quiet and steady game, not sure he hadn't been told to keep it simple and not take chances, Liam was up into the line at every opportunity and was pinching balls probably meant for Dr M! Matty made some cracking runs down the other wing but scored his try with a centre's crash under the posts. We started really strongly, kept on with Cunners in the bin, but then Cleck really picked it up and stretched us left and right when we were back to 15, their backs showing what they could do too. We were strong in the scrum and the pack got two tries (push over maul and Rob Bramhall from good recycling) to go with Freeman's hat-trick.
You’re not trying to manipulate me, are you? Only I’m notoriously gullible.

Who played in the forwards ss? Watched the 2nds beat Stockport 2nds with a very slick performance. King was playing and gibney was watching so who plugged the holes?

Pack was Murray, Croft, Reed, McKie, Bramhall, Richardson, Scofic, Sutherland with Rylance, Weare and another Bramhall on the bench. Mark Murray, Nick Richardson and Max Scofic all had identical scrum hats on; should not be allowed- totes confusing at a distance. Robins looked a lot better with the time and protection that the team couldn't give him against Preston. Like SS said, he had probably been told to not to take risks; he didn't kick much and he didn't let himself get sacked, he got the ball to the old blokes as quick as and didn't commit any howlers.

It's so cool for Loo to have a young "n" in such a pivotal position & come away with such a great result. Will obviously get stood down against the "tigers" of this league, but it's an indication of how Loo are progressing. I too watched the 2nds do a job on Stockport...something that would certainly not have happened two years ago.... #clubontheup
PS, the Stobbart stand looks fantastic.

Loo gave us a great game last year both home and away. Let's not play it down, loo can and will be contenders this year make no mistakes.

Hull got off to a great start on their return to level five. Thirteen tries and nine conversions proving too much for a plucky Burnage side to cope with. Stockport at home next Saturday will not be so easy.

Agree yogi Hull got off to a great start. It was a great day for the spectators as well.
The pack were very dominant an the backs looked really sharp.
Onto Stockport next week whom we should know more about what to expect.

Likely to be a closer game -obviously schedulers thought that the M62 going East would be quiet early in Sept given that Hull have consecutive home games.

Interesting to see that last years successful N3N teams had mixed fortunes in N2N with Sandal being successful and Sale not.

Forecasting from now on will at least have some stats to rely on - I have to admit to having been persuaded by over ambitious comments made by certain posters pre season!

16 started yesterday for Tigers from the last game of last year, only 2 new faces.

The continuity showed as the boys came out of the blocks at 100mph, going in half time @ 39 -0. Let our foot of the gas in the second half scoring only once in the first 15 min, but then switched up to finish off.

9 try's 7 converted and 2 penaltys, so a good day for the boys, and maybe left a few points out on the pitch.

Credit to Ilkley they never gave up, with there supporters also never giving up. Great clubhouse ..... However it's just bricks, it's the people inside it that make the place, and what great people they are, gracious in defeat.

Make no mistakes and don't let the score swing you, ilkley will be fine in this league and cause some upsets.
At the end of the day ........ rugby was the winner !

Strange schedule for the start of the season as I see both Sandal and Tynedale are also at home for the first two games in N2N.
If Rugby is the game they play in Heaven ..... Why does it hurt like Hell when you retire?

Agree with Tiger Dome on all points re the game at Ilkley. Tigers looked strong in all areas, and played as a well drillled team. 2 class new acquisitions which has obviously strengthened the squad. A shock to the system for Ilkley, however they will learn from it and will improve as a result. Next week it's Lymm away, so bring it on !!

Sandal played very well yesterday but I supect the fortunes would have been the other way round if we swopped fixtures with Sale FC and played Caldy away !!
