Long time reader, first time poster. Thought it was about time to get a Sidcup voice on here.

I think Intouch is cryptically referring to an aforementioned loan agreement between WP and Old Elthamians (feel to correct me if I'm wrong, I feel like Intouch clearly has more insight on this) I see from their match reports that Will Robinson, formerly of London Welsh and Rotherham is already down there, guessing this is all part of the arrangement.

In terms of us this far, its been a fantastic introduction to the league and myself and fellow alacadoos have enjoyed visiting new grounds, as well as some more familiar sites, the atmosphere at Hertford last weekend was truly exceptional and added to an enthralling encounter.

Very late to the game but for what its worth

Barnes 5 - 0 Towcestrians: Home win for the team with the best backline I've seen so far
Guernsey 4 - 1 Trink: Tring tough old boys, but Guernsey just slightly too strong at home, corker
Guildford 0 - 5 Tunbridge Wells: Chatting to an old boy after the TW fixture and it sounds like the cheque book is well and truly open, expect a very strong second half of the season!
Shelford 4 - 1 Sutton & Epsom: Shelford pack to squeeze this one out for a vital win
Sidcup 5 - 0 Dorking: Really promising performance last week, fingers crossed, under no illusions this will be another very tough fixture
Southend Saxons 0 - 5 Westcombe Park: Gav Lachs extras to make the difference?!
Westcliff 0 - 5 Hertford: Hertford really impressive, good all round clinical team

BARNES 5-1 Towcestrians - Tows improving but this task might be too much.
GUERNSEY 5-2 Tring - MOTD. Raiders form and home advantage should be enough
GUILDFORD 4-1 Tunbridge Wells - Twells to push G's. Very close encounter.
SHELFORD 4-1 Sutton & Epsom - Both sides wishing to pull out of the bottom zone. Home advantage.
Sidcup 1-5 DORKING - Dorking need to improve away but have potential to do so.
SOUTHEND SAXONS 5-1 Westcombe Park - A must win for both sides. Saxons have edge at home.
WESTCLIFF 5-2 Hertford - Cliff to keep the leaders honest. Could go either way. Narrow home win.

Probably the most difficult week of predictions this season at the top and the bottom with some mid table battles as well. All teams still to encounter very heavy conditions, but when the conditions turn outcomes will be different. Good luck to all.

Interesting.  I'm the TW photographer... one step removed from management so not privy to everything going on behind the scenes.

All I would say is that I've been to every TW match this season so far.  There have been no significant additions to the 1st XV Squad since the season started, nor (to the best of my knowledge) are there plans for any at this stage of the season.  There's been some rotation, with new Coaches in place this season getting to know their squad, and as there has to be with injuries... but no recent new faces.

If that changes I'm happy to absolutely post in here to that effect.

All the best to Sidcup for the rest of your season.

Guildford 1 v 4 Tunbridge Wells: T Wells RTW, Tunbridge on the up can they break the stubborn defence
Shelford 1 v 4 Sutton & Epsom: bad weather not going to effect this game - running rugby wins
Sidcup 4 v 1 Dorking : Going with the home side
Southend Saxons 4 v 1  Westcombe Park: Massive game, Combes extra help a little early to tell, Southend good at home

Westcliff -v- Hertford is off.
Frozen pitch.

How very flattering of you , did you not enjoy your full Christmas Lunch free wine and beer? Obviously not. I am struggling to see how a 62-7 score line flatters us , particularly when the 7 came from a lucky interception. We look forward for the 5 star treatment when we come to your place.

To be fair, when you do have a whole other rugby club (London French) between your clubhouse and pitch, something isn't quite right.  Just saying.

You chaps clearly haven't heard of the magical powers of canada goose droppings.

Roll around in that stuff long enough, you turn into a titan of industry and a love-making tyrannosaur.

It works wonders as an exfoliant too. Totally gluten-free and hypoallergenic.

(Lots of teams moan about the geese after a hiding. Funny that.)

Good luck Tows for the rest of the season.

The pitch at Barnes is not great, but be thankful you didn't have to play on a second team pitch, the one the far end of the fields, past the rowing club, in a different part of London. The goose slime is fowl, (see what I did there?) but the people at the club are good. Always look forward to a Barnes game.

A rugby club isn't the clubhouse or the pitch... it's the people that love it.  I'd rather have a rundown clubhouse and good people than the best facilities and... whatever.

I may not have loved the result, but I enjoyed our trip to Barnes back in early September.  I'm looking forward to watching the return this weekend at St. Mark's in TW!

I wholeheartedly agree with you Bruce, the Crescent farm faithful and I really enjoyed the trip to Barnes (other than the result!) and found the people and that filled the clubhouse to be good rugby people. I particularly enjoyed the bedouin tent vibe in the club house, brought back some cracking memories of some more salacious Sidcup Ranger behaviour... also recommend that a good trip to Barnes should always start with a pint of the good stuff at waterloo prior to getting the train, it certainly took the edge off of our loss.

To clarify my points regarding TW, I must confess to being a closet rugby anorak when it comes to programmes, and noted at least 12 new names from the side that we played last year, and presumably to talk a name such as Dave Allen out of retirement took quite some doing. That said you fully deserved your win against us the other week in what was a very impressive physical display.

I look forward to talking ISO's and apertures with you down at St Marks later in the year.

Best,
DD
