You never get much news out of Syston but would be interesting to hear. They are on some run but sadly I think it will still be too late.

Well to get 5 Wins on the bounce, against some decent teams means that they have their heckles up and there could be a proper dog fight down at the bottom of the table. Phoenix who seemed to just be digging themselves out of the mire can quite easily get dragged back in if this continues.

Just glad to see teams putting on a fight rather than surrendering meekly.

On a side note I wish I could read some Phoenix match reports......
Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

Not too distressed about this. Quite a few unavailable due to it being down as a blank Saturday.

We have played them twice and consider them to have found some form rather than ringers.

Bournville 24-25 Nuneaton

Bridgnorth 18-7 Newport

Broadstreet 19-35 Luctonians

Burton 35-14 Lichfield

Derby 26-49 Doncaster

Sheffield p-p Sandbach

Syston 28-24 Scun-thorpe

A pivotal week in the title race as the top 2 both slip up, allowing the pretenders to the crown to close in.  Syston’s run of wins continued in the top v bottom clash a it liffted them off the bottom of the table for the first time in a while. Too little too late? Who knows. Importantly, Scunny secured 2 bonus points which could prove vital at the end of the season. Newport were out played at Bridgnorth, leaving without a bonus point. They slipped to third after Lucs travelled to Coventry and came away with 5 points, ensuring that they are in with shout of the title. At the other end of the table, Donny consigned Derby to the foot of the table, putting the hosts in deep trouble at the same time as putting some clear blue water between themselves and the relegation zone. The mid table clash between Bournville and Nuns, the vistors won by the narrowest of margins in a very tight game. Sheffield v Sandbach was called off.

It was not a good week in the prediction league for all but Lucky, who got 5 out of the 6 games right. Everyone else failed to get the bonus point (yet). It may change when the postponed game is replayed but we will need to wait until the end of April for that. In the meantime, the gap between top and second goes back to 4 points. Otherwise no change at the top.
