It’ll be interesting to see who others have in mind.

I'll go with S'thorpe and Broadstreet.
Relegated Syston, Derby and Burton.

Luctonians hold the key.

Greetings to all pundits.

Didn't travel as I have some holes in my waders. I can never predict a Nuns defeat - thats why I don't do the prediction mularkey. Your boys look as though they are on course for relegation in 12 months. Do you really want promotion?

Good point! Just look at Peterborough and B&S seems that there is a big gulf (full of shredded £50 notes) between this league and National 2. Are the costs sustainable???

Lots of permutations at both ends of the table but I think Scunny would have to seriously implode not to take the title now so probably a question of who finishes 2nd? I have done some "in depth analysis😂😂" that will no doubt count for nothing in the end. Assuming clubs in the running can win their games against bottom half clubs (and that's nothing like certain in this topsy turvy league) it will probably come down to who fares best in their remaining games against other top 6 clubs
Scunny (81pts) - Sheff(H), Bridgnorth(H), Broadstreet(A)
Newport (74)- Bridgnorth(A), Broadstreet(H)
Lucs (71) - Bridgnorth(H), Broadstreet(A)
Broadstreet(70) - Lucs(H), Newport(A), Scunny(H)
Bridgnorth (68) - Lucs(A), Newport(H), Scunny(A), Sheff(H)
Sheffield (61) - Scunny(A), Bridgnorth(A)
I would disagree with Section19 and say it is more likely that Broadstreet will hold the key - win the 3 above and they'll take 2nd - lose just 1 and they'll let in Newport or Lucs (Bridgnorth & Sheffield too much to do)
Seeing as Newport already have a 3 point advantage its Newport to finish 2nd for me - biased obviously but based on a reasonable argument above.
Now to the bottom .........even tougher!
Much as I admire Syston's recent resurgence I fear they have left it too late (much will depend on their next fixture at Derby)
Talking of Derby - next 3 fixtures all against relegation rivals so they will probably know their fate by end of March
Ditto Donny 4 winnable games but ending with 2 toughies- I'm taking them to escape
Lichfield - perennial survivors based on their ability to pick up bonus points in most games without winning that many - They too have winnable games coming up and despite 7 losses on the trot I expect to see another Houdini act
Ditto Sandbach - somewhat of an enigma - big performances against the better clubs - poor against others - but again they always manage to survive and will do so again
So I need another club to join Syston and Derby for the drop and sadly it looks like Burton for me
All pure speculation and bound to be wrong!!

The guys work hard they get what they deserve. What happens next year is another matter. There are 6 more games to be played this season and the Rotund lady hasn’t sung yet. I know this also, that Midlands Premier is also going to be tougher next year again, with up to 6 teams with aspirations of level 4 having already been there in the last 2/3 years again depending on Level transfers. That doesn’t include those who have aspirations for Level 4 rugby who haven’t been there. Que sera sera. Oh and by the way Scunny was sunny 😎 on Saturday as those who came will tell you.

I would say Systons run has come too late and of teams I have seen lately Lichfield and Derby have been the poorest by some margin. Therefore those 3 to go down.

As for promotion I cannot see why any team would want it unless they have a long term banker. Going up is fine, all the evidence suggests you will come back down quickly. The key is not to come down in disarray as the money dries up and the mercenaries leave for easier more profitable pastures. In the meantime the local players and volunteers have also moved on! I suspect we all recognise clubs who have done this.

Scunny appear to have a good model and have been there before but I cannot see the fun of travelling across the north of England getting pumped most weeks. However there seem to be plenty who enjoy a good pumping so good luck to em!
