Derby cling on to win 27 - 26, Lich scoring 3 tries in the last 7 or 8 minutes to earn 2 BPs. Had the game gone on for another 3 minutes, who knows!

Derby also intercepted 5m from own line a pass that would have led to a try and ran the length to score in the first half!

Funny old game.

Derby 27-26 Lichfield

Bournville 17-22 Sandbach

Bridgnorth 31-28 Nuneaton

Broadstreet 34-49 Newport

Burton 24-32 Luctonians

Sheffield 24-20 Scun-thorpe

Syston 20-15 Doncaster

Friday night’s game saw the home team stretch out to a 27-7 lead but Derby’s fans probably gnawed their nails to the quick as Lichfield fought back, ultimately to secure 2 bonus points for their efforts. Sandbach’s smash and grab win will have disappointed the home team, Bournville, who will have earmarked this game for a win. Bridgnorth’s close win over a competitive Nuneaton side saw them move to top spot in the league on points difference. Newport kept their promotion hopes alive with a solid away win over Broadstreet. Burton were unable to keep up with Lucs, despite getting on the score sheet first allowing the visitors to keep up with the league leaders. SKiwifruithorpe fell to their second defeat of the season at Abbeydale scoring late tries to make the score respectable against a resurgent Sheffield. Syston secured their first win of the season against Donny, who appear to have 2 squads – one capable of beating any team and one that cant!

That Syston win put the kybosh on any full houses but well done to Thatbloke for getting the rest right and being top scorer for the week Star. The PL leaders suffered the embarrassment of failing to secure bonus points which allows Friendly Prop the consolation of taking lead despite his team’s loss Clap.  This is how the league table looks after week 11.
