The concept is to avoid payments to any players outside of the Pro team.

The Ealing Trailfinders landing page shows two options Pro or Amateur.

Does that mean the Amatuers team that plays in Zoo 2 will now truly be an Amateurs team?

In other news, someone went to bed on the wrong side last night. 🧐

Ealings Zoo team were always amateur. There were players loaned out by the original Academy to LIWG, Chinnor, Henley and others . I do believe these players recieved ' expenses'.

Every other player outside of the Pro squad are amateur players .

I do not know if under the newly formed senior Academy that play for the Brunel team recieve payment but several are under a scholarship .
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

I have always had an interest in Havant. Ealing and Havant were in National 4 South together in the late 80's early 90's and I believe Havant moved to the heady heights of National 3 .

When we played in one away games at Havant I remember being overwhelmed by a superior powered forward pack. This defeat emphasised exactly what was required in the National leagues.

Ealing Trailfinders 1871 will hopefully work their way up the leagues and the target is Level 6

Why is a post about Ealing putting a team in the Herts & Middlesex leagues on a Level Six thread? Last time I checked the league that Ealing's new side will be going in is at Level 9-10.

If last season and county season is anything to go by .. After the 10 away games that stinted their start but finishing very strong towards the end of the season i believe Havant is an outside shout for promotion ... Alongside Camberley who i have no doubts will be even stronger this year.
If the training is hard, the game becomes easy

Good to see he's still with you, he could easily play at a higher level judging on the performance that day but equally good to hear he's a CHOBHAM man, all be it with a funny accent!!
We feel the same TBH, we know we’re lucky that he comes back.
Well sadly Ben has left Fowlers Wells and signed for Tunbridge Wells. We wish him the best of luck and know he'll stand out at Level 5.

With no knowledge as the season hasn't started, I see Medway, Havant and Camberley as the front runners too!

Camberley are definitely strengthening again, they have signed Chobham's lock from last season Ryan Gregory for the forthcoming season!

Sad to hear that..thought he was a chobham man to the core!....tunbridge is a fair trek from your part of Surrey, what made him go, surely not the drop to level 7?

He's a teacher and has moved to Kent/ SE London - still a trek to get out to Tunbridge so I suspect there's an incentive.

In his defence, I think he'll shine at L5.

Just to add my guesstimate to the current front runners Thurrock were certainly upping their game in the latter stages of the competition so will continue to pose a threat to the "established" favourites. It was an enthralling season compounded by several teams hitting form later in the season than they may have wished so I expect there will little to choose from the front runners till next spring. New faces and new places, what's not to like?!

There some 15 prior post to my initial post all relating to payment to players at the lower levels posted on Level 6. I have been made aware that the formation of the new EALING TRAILFINDERS 1871 Club has a specific goal of reaching level 6 . They are starting from the bottom but I believe we will reach our goal of level 6.

My post is about amateur Rugby , no payments to the players or `expenses`

Quote from previous post.

Ealing Rugby Club are forming a new club and it is said that they will never play players a truly amateur club . When you join you will know that you will never receive `expenses`Here it is another truly amateur club

This season promises to be another cracker in L1S and will provide welcome relief and entertainment from "other stuff" going on in the big wide world. I for one cannot wait for the opening fixtures and whats not to like Ealing wanting to join in the fest? There's "many a slip twixt cup and lip" so progression to this league and beyond is a challenge for any team, as indeed is survival, with fortunes being turned on seemingly innocuous events both on and off the pitch. Bring it on and lets keep the banter on this thread flowing.
