[QUOTE=Kentishman]Happy, I can’t help but feel you are being so defensive as you know your club is in serious danger of doing “an East Grinstead”. The fact that the heart of the club (junior section) is missing 2 key age groups is a serious concern. What many of us Kent rugby supporters can’t understand is why money is thrown at the 1st team when there are clearly other areas within the club that are of more concern. Look at TJs for an example. They openly pay players at the top but their junior section is in great shape. They have their priorities in order. I just can’t understand how “true” club men can stand back and watch their club be run in such a way. Are you really that happy, Happy?!!

Of course he's being defensive, you and the idiot that lives under a bridge in Blackfen only really come on here to dig at Westcombe Park, why wouldn't he stand up for the club he loves?
You claim to have no allegiance to any particular club so how could you possibly know what it means t be a "True Club Man"
"You and the many Kent rugby supporters"!!! Don't make me laugh, the vast majority genuinely couldn't give a monkeys what happens outside their own clubs.

Why are you digging at a club that is open and honest about payments, that deducts tax and NI contributions from player payments at source, that declares to the RFU that they pay players and accept any sanctions accordingly?
Why are you not swiping at the Kent clubs that import overseas players on visa's that do not allow them to receive material benefit yet receive free flights, accommodation and cash match fee's, the Kent clubs that continue to advertise for overseas players on social media via unregistered agents offering all of the above plus more with absolutely no regard for the rules, what about the clubs that claim to be amateur but provide free or heavily discounted accommodation or payments direct from sponsors, free club and gym membership for their players or the clubs that pay players cash as in the old "boot money" days.
How many clubs do you think declare to the RFU that their players do not receive material benefit that actually operate as described above.
You give it the holier than thou attitude yet you continually attack a club that is open and honest about player payments and have been for close to 20 years!

Are you aware that of the 14 or 15 players that Combe have recruited this summer, the vast majority are either from clubs or teams that play at a lower level than our 1st XV and have stepped up. A couple have stepped down and have assumed player/coach roles, 1 high profile signing has returned to he club where he played mini/junior rugby. Troll No.1 suggesting we have a team full of journeymen (when his own is littered with ex OE's and Blackheath players) and quoting ridiculous figures couldn't be further from the truth, we are promoting players from within and recruiting good local players from lower leagues that want to improve - 3 years ago we struggled to get 2 senior sides out on matchdays, this season we have 4 plus vets and very close to getting 5 senior sides although that may not come to fruition until next season. Our senior teams are littered with 18 and 19 year old players that have come through the youth ranks and 20+ year old's that have returned from uni.
Not interested in grassroots rugby?? Why let facts get in the way of a good story eh!

Every single person that reads your bile can see through your thinly veiled guise as a "concerned Kent Rugby supporter" as a troll that is here simply to kick another club at any opportunity although your motivation is still a mystery to me, maybe you could enlighten us all?. I'm guessing you or your kid got overlooked at selection or something similar.

You do clutch at so many straws in order to try find new angles to kick 'Combe don't you. You are aware of the proximity of TJ's to some of the counties best private schools aren't you? please show me a rugby club anywhere in the land with such an embarrassment of riches on their doorstep that doesn't have a decent junior section.
Can you name the rugby focused schools that feed Westcombe Park's junior section?

TJ's have been paying players for many years, did you give them a public kicking when they were operating at level 6 for paying players? Thought not

Blackheath went through the doldrums a few seasons back with their junior section, I understand an entire age group plus other individuals decamped and went to Colfes. Did you give them a public kicking at that time? Thought not!!

You are aware that East Grinstead were funded almost entirely by 1 wealthy individual and that he not only called the shots, he owned most of the toy's and the 1st XV collapsed because the management at EG made a ballsy decision to protect the long term future of the club, subsequently the wealthy individual picked up his ball and went home.

To imply that Combe are run even remotely the same way and are in danger of suffering the same fate highlights perfectly that you are at best extremely ignorant but more likely just an idiotic troll that is looking to score points and somehow discredit a very good rugby club (or proper rugby club as many many visitors tell us) that has had a bit of a downturn in fortunes on the pitch.

Is there any coincidence that you set your profile up on Rolling Maul literally days after Westcombe Park's relegation was confirmed! Your idiot mate set his up a few days before the start of our relegated season! Where were you both when Combe were in Nat 1,2 or 3?

Do you know what Schadenfreude means? Thought not!!

This board used to be a hive of activity with 15-20 posters taking part in the prediction leagues etc, it was a fun place to come and get some rugby gossip or debate rugby issues with mates and rivals, I used to open the site and there would be 20 or 30 new messages to read across various threads. You and your kind have completely ruined the level 6 thread and the board for so many people, long time members and significant contributors simply don't bother any more. I just wish you and your silly mate from Blackfen would simply stop posting. You've made your point, over and over and over and over again, we really don't need to keep revisiting your hatred for all things 'Combe so please do the decent thing and eff off!!

Alternatively here's a thought, as you are such a big supporter of Kent Rugby and are concerned about Combe, as you know exactly what it takes to be successful and how a rugby club should be run, would you like to come to Westcombe Park and present your "blueprint for success" to the ManCom - We will of course pay you for the privilege, tax and NI deducted, and you can even wear a disguise if you wish.

p.s. Bring the Sidcup troll, he can make the tea.

Wow - I'm betting you are glad to get that off your chest. Am very capable at a bbq if you have enough of your players to stay around long enough! First hand I hear your game was a big squad against what TW who could muster 17 players, and after the game whilst TW were munching on your food there was not a WP player to be seen said the official that observed the game.! Go get promoted, have great season watching it. Good luck to all tomorrow but you know when your weekend is to play WP it will be spoiled!

Close in the Thurrock V Medway game! Anyone watch? Medway not the team they have been? Or big improvements from Thurrock?

Considering there were only 10 pts between them in the corresponding fixture last season, and Thurrock finished the season so well, I reckon thats a great result for Medway.

That was not a cash cow SirQ. Grassroots rugby is the way forward. Interesting that you were called out by others, but none of us got personal but you. Small man syndrome you have, I have seen you with your shopping bag, but the arrogance of your Club is unbelievable and that is why no Kent Club will have any respect for you going forward. Suck up, have a kebab and get back to reality.

Good result for your boys Dickon. Certainly against Combe KCS were far better than the score suggested.

It appears money well spent on the Westcombe Park back line, who were very dangerous throughout, albeit against a Darts back line with 3 players playing out of position (including 1 forward in the back line). I would say further investment needed on the Westcombe Park pack if they are going to compete against the top 3 teams in this league. WP certainly deserved their win on Sat, and if they had been more clinical and dominated more in the pack it could have been more.

But I am extremely proud of the Darts team who kept battling throughout.  It was a massively weakened side with at least 10 first team regulars either injured or unavailable. However the young lads who stepped in for their debuts and lads who played out of position were all excellent and will learn from the experience.  Darts have had a tough start to the season, but do not write them off. I expect the return leg later in the season to be a far closer game.

A fair summary B Rex, your lads just didn’t give up and credit to them all. Hopefully you’ll get some back next week and you can start getting some points on the board.
It can’t have helped your preparation losing your head coach in the week leading up to the game.

Any idea why he left?

Our head coach has moved on for personal reasons. Not ideal timing, but as Im sure we'd all agree there are other important things in life aside from rugby. And we have all wished him the best.

Massive shame as he has been excellent for the club over the last 5 years, and has worked tirelessly to harness the talent of the young squad.  He will be missed. But all good things inevitably come to an end. We will continue to build on his good work.

I was at Westcombe and the despite a bit of niggle, I think Dartfordians did ok considering the situation. The disparity in quality in the backs was reflected in the scoreline and it was a hard day for the forwards of either team to make an impact given how many long range tries the Westcombe backs scored.

Interesting to hear about the Thurrock game too, there were a few other relatively surprising results from first to second week. I hear KCS were doing well against Cornish until they had a spell with 14 and then 13 players and would be interested to hear more about the, somewhat unexpectedly, close Belsize Park and Camberley games going off of the first week's results.

I should think the clubs who can maintain a depth of squad into the new year, when players inevitably get injured/lose interest etc etc will challenge at the top this year.
