Should make for a fascinating opening weekend fixture at KCS, who haven't lost a league game for 17 months...

It will definitely be interesting to see how KCS fair in LS1.
Historically teams who have been promoted from LSW2 tend to do reasonably well with teams such as Camberley, London Cornish, Totts to name a few where i feel during their promotion push into the league they have recruited beyond just that season and it shows with just how well they get promoted in such fashion as DICKON points out KCS form going into the first fixture of the season on a 30+ game winning streak.
For me, its still Havant and Camberley battling it out for top spot this season.

Indeed Dickon in fact they won every game last season with a try bonus point, 110/110 so don't think anyone will underestimate KCS.

KCS winning streak is being over played at little (but only a little), they went unbeaten last season which ran by 1 week into  8 months and have a superb 22 game winning streak (league games). They actually lost on last day of the 2017/18 season therefore the unbeaten in 22 starts from Sept 2018 to April 2019. This according to their website in any case

Just minor detail but very very impressive with a maximum points hall last term and their 2 senior sides winning every competition they entered, they are going to be serious challengers as were Camberley when promoted from he same league.

Really looking forward to the 1st game at their place, if we don't prepare properly or don't recognise the threat of KCS, we will get beaten. We may get beaten in any case as KCS may well be the better side, we'll find out on the 7th Sept and I can't wait.

Havant were comfortably the best side I saw last season when we traveled there, although Combe were pretty poor, Havant from 1-15 were superb, not many will come away with points from that trip now they have settled on the new surface, Camberley are well coached and play exiting expansive rugby and will be there or there abouts, Thurrock had a very effective game plan last season and are more than capable of mounting a challenge with the quality they have in their ranks. Cobham always dangerous as are London Cornish and Medway's record of top 3 finishes surely can't be ignored.

As for Westcombe Park, could be a decent season, promotion is desired but it will be a tough ask as I'm sure that is the genuine ambition of at least 5 or 6 sides in the league We have added some quality to the squad with hopefully strength in depth that we lacked last season, injuries played a crucial part of our results/performances in 2018/19 so hoping to see improvements in that area. Pre-season training is going well with players returning from injury/university and new to the club mixing well with the established players.

Bring on the 7th!

With the signings they have made from Old Elthamians, I would expect Westcombe Park to do very well indeed

Any guesses at how M1E and M1W will pan out this season?

Who are the favourites?
M1E is it Derby and Syston trying to bounce straight back, are Rugby Lions going to make a go of it with their new coaching team, they've made a few decent signings.

M1W will DKs finally get promoted back to Mids Prem after 2 play off defeats? Have Lichfield kept their squad, are there any dark horses from the promoted teams. Is anyone likely to implode?

What are the rumours about playing budgets in Midlands L6 Patch? Normally a few well funded aspirational clubs.

Rugby Lions still rumoured to shell out a few quid despite their financial disaster a few years back.
Not aware of any other big spenders, DKs always seem to have a few quid, Old Hales always 'attracted' well known players in the past but not sure if they pay out these days.
Think Derby are run with promotion in mind and have decent facilities, Oundle have signed Darren Fox and seem to have picked up a fair few Easy Mids luminaries over the years.
I'm not sure there's as much cash in the leagues as there used to be though.

My predictions for top 3 in each division are:
M1W
1.Lichfield
2. DKs (and finally win play off)
3. Maybe one of Kidderminster or Kenilworth who both had good seasons getting promotion

M1E
1.Derby
2. Syston
3. Oundle

Thanks for the input, invaluable! Can't believe you actually edited it too.

Now run along and keep away from mummy's Sherry cupboard.

1 West could be close at the top Lichfield are a strong side that have dropped down then you have Dudley, Kenilworth and Stourbridge who are strong.

1 East Derby should be up there and if Syston carry on the form they had at the second half of last season they will be a threat.

Cannot wait for the season to start now been a long break.

Rugby is played World Wide ! Most people who follow a sport are interested and do care about other clubs . There are stories and interesting details of other clubs. You need to expand your horizons beyond the Havant border of the A3 and the A27.

There is a whole World of RugbyLOL
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

One does not store one's sherry in a cupboard. The smart gentleman about town displays his sherry in a cabinet.

Cheers for that robb, at least someone here doesn't take life too seriously 😁
We have 3 friendlies lined up , all at hooks lane against our old "friends" TOTTS also against Wimborne and finally a potential cracker against Sutton & Epsom...just hoping we get through all three without injuries

.
Not for us, we start on 17th, against Tunbridge Wells, followed by Chingford and Colchester.
Should be good tests, and a pointer as to how we are gelling.
