They went to the instanbul 10s competition but couldn’t borrow enough players to make a side and suffered a couple of injuries in the warm up where Ford & Varndell got back strains after dropping their wallets and couldn’t play😂

The three cup games are our pre-season.
That's easy for you to say.

Indeed. Decision made. It stinks, but let's move on. There is finally Rugby being played by most clubs. I'd much rather people posted about that.

They will be playing 15% of a team to match the 15% of the contracted salaries they paid last season.

In most other sports, apart from football, second tier players in golf, tennis, snooker, darts etc are lucky if they cover their living expenses.

I have a friend who works on the gate for my club and she would disagree with your quote that most of the spectators don’t pay. I must have imagined paying for my season ticket last year as well then...

I wasn't even going to mention that Maire, but yes, I don't think many get in scot-free.

Think you will find that those who get in free are either Sponsors Guests or have tickets from the Community Team occasionally the club will issue tickets for prospective sponsors cannot understand why many other tickets would be given away

I know there’s also some for player’s family and friends and occasionally competition winners or as you say through the community team but I would say that these are a fairly small amount of the total crowd.

So first game on September 20th.
Under four weeks.

I am sure they spoke about wanting 32 players and have announced 5.
I know some of those (up to 13 I think) may be on loan from Premiership sides.
But my dodgy maths that leaves 14 to find.
So which clubs have had players approached?

I know of Tim Bitirim of Loughborough via Cambridge.
Who else?

I know of a level 7 player that turned them down. To be fair, he's decent.

Any truth in the rumour that Ben Stokes & Jack Leach have signed on for Leeds/YC?

Otley, it appears. Maybe he is YC’s new #10? Whatever numbers they quoted last year YC’s crowd appeared to be well under the thousand.

I have been told that a very good player that I know well has been pestered by YC recently to join them. In my opinion he  is too good a player and too good a bloke to waste his talent and time on Yorkshire Carnegie

Wow, that would be a step up for the few that had the potential, especially the Middlesbrough lads!

Morning,it may surprise some of you but if you have a free pass, you dont go through a turnstyle, you go to the main gate. Anyone wanting a free pass for Headingley just need to go to Becketts Park on a wed pm. Anyone who believes the official attendance at Headingley is delusional.

It's not just the Championship but all the way down the pyramid from the Premiership.

The majority of clubs are overpaying compared to income (especially gate takings) and unless there is a complete resetting of the structure it will continue and more clubs will find themselves in YC boat, and probably without the paddle supplied by the RFU to them.

Absolutely, you can go down to the lower reaches of the Yorks Leagues (tier 7/8) and find players being paid.I witnessed the handing over of cash at a Yorks 2 game,to pay for three South Africans. The club in question denies they have ever paid any money!

I think your stats are flawed Fly Half - perhaps you could revisit them before attempting to 'quote' figures that most on here know are incorrect.

And when you 'witnessed' said payment to 3 South African players did you get it confirmed from any of the parties involved that this was what it was for? Or did you just see money being exchanged and put 2 and 2 together and came up with the conclusion you have drawn above?
Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!
