Leeds have announced their first player signing, They've just signed Stand Off Joe Ford from Leicester as Player / Coach.   How much is that going to cost.

However ludicrous the situation, isn't Leeds/Yorkshire Carnegie still in the Championship and not N1?

What difference does it make which League they are in, their actions could well effect plenty of N1 Clubs. They've already tried to get back some of the 6 players who signed for us (Roth Titans) this season.

Word is they are trying to hoover up as many players from Championship and Nat One as they can lay their hands on. But we're not bitter, are we?

Actually, the same rules applied to London Welsh should apply to YC, I.e. Cease to exist and start again lower down if they want to.

I cannot believe Ford has signed for YC, unless he has been paid up front - does he not realise promises they give (in the form of league contracts) aren't worth the paper they are written on?

Also, what a kick in the teeth for those players almost forced to accept 15p in the £ when YC show they haven't learnt from their mistakes by signing Ford.
