Brizzer

No turn around. I just said it could still happen although, like most people, I do not expect it to happen.

I would much rather have Tigers in the Championship than Newcastle but I fear Falcons will fall at the next hurdle.

Thanks for the criticism though.
Forever Green.

The Tigers fans seem to fully expect to get absolutely nothing on Friday night.
Being a Geordie who lives in Leicester my loyalties are a bit torn but I would have to say that I would expect the Falcons to snaffle the points here.

I read on Twitter that Ampthill members approved a relocation for 20/21 with 19/20 still at Dullingham Park. Has anyone details of the proposed new site? Where's FA when you need him, in Charlotte I suspect

Mark Lavery had a chat with 3 Counties Radio this morning.

In summary the plan is to:

Move to a 34 acre site on Fordfield Road (about 1/2 mile from the current site, near Centre Parcs). The plan is to have 6-8 pitches (4 floodlit). Obviously a new clubhouse, but also a stand to be built into that.

I'll be sad to move from Dillingham Park, but with the number of teams and players we have, I think this is necessary. Exciting times ahead!

Falcons have lost 28-19 at Gloucester this afternoon and are therefore relegated. A dreadful day for northern rugby. Anyway to all Falcons fans welcome back to the Championship and i'm sure you'll enjoy all the banter and rugby next season.

I'm totally gutted for Falcons who have some wonderful players and supporters but look forward to going back to KP and the toon afterwards.

Being a Geordie who comes from a place 10 minutes away from the Falcons ground but living in Leicester, I’m not sure whether to feel sad or relieved...

Does not compute for me.
Different scale, but same principle - I live closer to two Prem grounds than the Champ ground I grew up close to, but can't conceive of supporting/having feelings for either of the former over the latter.
Still, whatever suits.
Come to this board as a Falcons fan though, eh?

Mark Smith will not be happy with the Walk in the Woods to the dusty Field at Ampthill then Captain Sparrow.

I’m a Nottingham fan- I became interested when I moved to Nottingham to train as a nurse at Nottingham University. I do still look out for Falcons though as I used to do the first aid there with the St John’s Ambulance more years ago than I care to remember

The dusty field is the pitch next to the club house.

The walk through the woods takes you to a pitch that would grace any championship ground, it is excellent and made of real grass unlike the one in Newcastle I believe.

But you do have to walk 200 yards from your cold breeze block changing room still so he will be able to complain about that if not the playing surface.

Frankly the Ampthill experience will be a lesson to all premiership aspirant clubs with delusions of grandeur. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the pitches themselves although the surroundings may take a bit of getting used to.

Newcastle may want to take some time to reflect on how when they finished 9th in the 2006-07 Premiership they are now facing a team that won Midlands 3 East South in the same season. What on earth have they been doing with all that funding and all that preferential treatment in the intervening 13 seasons to find themselves in the same league. They should suck up the experience without comment as they have failed their own standards abysymally.

I have to say as a local without allegiance to Ampthill it is a game I am massively interested to see.

I'd fogotten about him.

He'll be slightly happy that he now doesn't have to visit London Welsh, with our outside toilets and terrible media facilities.

Have Newcastle ever played LW at ODP? I thought the two clubs' paths had only crossed for one season, when Welsh were last in the Prem and were based in Oxford.

I have a large, red, ignore button.
It's in my own head, admittedly, but quite useful to have around.
Doesn't work every time, sadly. :(
