BeeBumble

I normally park around the woodlands area of Isleworth, couple in the Royal Oak, walk through the Mogden water treatment works along the duke of Northumberland river, fetches you out at the roundabout at Rugby Road. about a 10-15 minute walk depending on ability.

Winning isn't everything, it just makes the beer taste better

BeeBumble, Cheshire RFU are running a supporters' coach for the game, pick-up points are Caldy, Chester, and one of the motorway services.

Some time ago I was reading a thread on a Cornish rugby site regarding the CRFU not allowing 2nd teams into the RFU league structure. There was a school of thought that if this altered the number of clubs (due to mergers I guess), it would have a negative effect on Cornwall’s right to play in the county championship. Does anyone know anything about this as it seems a bit odd?

There is a minimum number of clubs required to be a CB, if the numbers drop too far the CB has to merge, in Cormwall's case that would be with Devon. The County Championship is for CBs. So the newly merged CB would enter a join "Devon and Cornwall" team . Just as Dorset and Wilts, NLD, Eastern Counties etc do.

Cheers.

Given the seriousness with which Devon seem to take county rugby, the merged CB could just be called Cornwall. Then everyone’s happy!

Doesn't seem to affect Sussex.

Having quickly looked at the regulations I think the rule is you cannot create a new CB unless it has 30 members and doing so must not reduce another CB to below 30 members.

But I cannot immediately find a rule that satys CBs with fewer than x must merge - but I thought it did.

Sussex has 32 clubs.
Cornwall has 27
Cambridge University has 20
