No. 21 unless someone beats me to it. - Don't get gassed on the outside by some Huckleberryy young un from Lufbra, because you'll never hear the last of it.

Hit The Space - Glad to hear Robbie's still alive.

A few tough questions at the press conference and to be honest I think I dropped a couple of clangers but I don't think too many people noticed. Lots of questions about why Fylde and why now and I gave the Nellie response which seemed to go down ok.

BA and Nellie were great and helped me out when it came to some of the rugby stuff but a few of the Fylde chaps looked a bit uneasy when I said we were looking to get into the Premiership within 3 years but I then said it might take us 5 years so everyone relaxed.

A couple of questions about this Arnie fella and his try scoring record but I just giggled a bit and said Arnie who and everyone else laughed a lot too.

Puli,

After your dire warnings I walked into the press conference having this fella Seagoon on my mind and when I was asked what my biggest worry was I blurted out 'Seagoon'. They all thought I was having a Cantona moment so it all added to the mystique.

Just so I am better prepared next time which team does this Seagoon play for and what position does he play?

Seagoon's playing days are over (that is if he ever had any!!) ...... but his presence on the touch line is legendary. As I have said ... woebegone any player who upsets him and incurs his wrath. (there again, as you have been forewarned, I am sure you will be safe!!!)

Is he one of the Fylde crowd Puli?

Has he any distinguishing features by which he may be easily recognized? To make it easy I have set out a multiple choice identikit for you.

Size - Billy Whizz size, Brian Ashton size, Bill Beaumont size?
Body shape - slim, slightly rotund, morbidly obese?
Body hair - ginge, hirsute, bearded, bald?
Scars, piercings and tattoos - face, lips, nose, other?
Voice - pipsqueak, effeminate, refined?
Demeanour - lagubrious, effervescent, jovial, aggressive?

A thumbnail sketch based on the above would be most useful

I am always wary of getting too near him, but. from memory. this may help you identify his presence when you play at .... (but that would be telling!!)

Size
- Billy Whizz size, Brian Ashton size, Bill Beaumont size? .................. Bigger even than Bill B!!!
Body shape - slim, slightly rotund, morbidly obese? .............................. Hulk like!!
Body hair - ginge, hirsute, bearded, bald? ............................................ Shaggy (all over)
Scars, piercings and tattoos - face, lips, nose, other? .......................... Think Shrek!!
Voice - pipsqueak, effeminate, refined? ................................................. Ship's Fog-horn.
Demeanour - lagubrious, effervescent, jovial, aggressive? ...................... A pleasure to be near (but not too near!!)

You are such a tease Puli.

I will be travelling the North of England and the Midlands looking for a loud hairy monster by the name of Seagoon. Could you at least give me a bit of a clue as to his likely whereabouts.

A tease I may be, but my first priority is my own safety!!
So this is as far as I dare go in identifying the famous/infamous .....

Seagoon!

Thanks Puli.

Although geography isn't my strong point it is pretty clear that Seagoon must be involved with Caldy in some way. It can't be my old mucker Stu Turner as he is as bald as a coot and he is not exactly a giant either.

Does Caldy have a monopoly on the weird and wonderful in this league?

So far I have been warned about:

The infamous Seagoon. What is he infamous for?
The Caldy Kit Man who sorts out the dressing rooms
Some ugly guy who would like to have a pop at me but he has got short arms
Arnie

Kingi says I shouldn't get too concerned Caldy are all a bunch of softies

I have explained you need only come to the Midlands for the Rugby Lions game (attendance and food, no need for kit) and we don't sign players bigger than you by some old tradition born in the back corridors of Rugby School.

Caldy committe have agreed to invest in additional temporary seating for the Fylde game which will double their stand capacity from 30 to 60. Leicester Lions will be providing a moving walkway from the club house to the ground to save BW having to negotiate the mud and Kendal are hiring air sea rescue for thier home game or does Billy Whizz have his 25 lengths bronze certificate!!

now there's an interesting view of the laws. If they played prop would their hair poke the eyes of other props and is that illegal?

I think you have had sufficient warnings now Billy Whiz to get you through the first few weeks of the season.
I am just off to France  as a friend of yours, Sebastien Chabal, has expressed an interest in playing in East Yorkshire, and I am to sort out details of the package. He tells me he fancies playing in the centre in N2N if he does come over!!!!!
Remember ... beware of Seagoon. (even Chabal mentioned him to me!!!)

In between giving interviews to BBC TV, Granada, Sky Sports, Telegraph, Sunday Times, Mail, Mirror, Sun, Radio Lancashire, TalkSport Radio, the Rugby Paper and local newspapers yesterday, I briefed him about Seagoon.

As you can see from Rob Wildman's good piece on Scrum.com, http://www.scrum.com/england/rugby/story/120498.html he's prepared:

""I know I'm going to be marked. I know opponents are going to be looking to put a 'big shot' on me. And I know about Seagoon at Caldy" Robinson said.

Thank you Allan for "briefing" Billy Whiz on the real dangers of Seagoon. I was hoping someone would take him into a dark corner somewhere and whisper the "gory " details in his ear. I am confident that he is now fully aware of the dangers and will be suitably prepared for the "dreaded" first meeting with his adversary!.

Sadly, Bilmu, I need to tell you it isn't the real Jason Robinson - the poster is but the player is an imposter with the same name.

Bit of an exageration there Nellie. Spin Doctor Foster wasn't supervising all the interviews. Average attendance at Fylde in 2009/10 was 403 [Source NCA website]

Is this some kind of text speak patois pop15?

What comments have JR made that suggests he's arrogant?

I heard him say many things at Thursday's press conference, none of them suggesting arrogance or underestimating N2N opponents. He has belief in his ability to make a mark in this division but you'd hardly expect anything else from a great player with his experience would you?
