Where has it been documented there is public sector involvement?

JR is being funded by a number of local businesses tied in with the community programme.

Well these stories are seriously misinformed Axe. Who? If you mean King Edward VII & Queen Mary School, one of our sponsors, this is a private school which is using JR in various ways such as coaching, making public appearances etc.

The idea of the local authority providing money to the club to pay players is both absurd and dangerous. They encourage us in the promotion of our annual beach rugby tournament - and are please by the worldwide marketing of 'Fylde', even if frequently misspelt - but nothing else.

More details please!

A good and full reply Allan.

I personally don't believe that the minutae of the detail is the business of anyone but the players and the club. Allan has set out Fylde's position which is that the club can afford the investment they have made and it is clear to all there is a significant statement of intent as far as Fylde senior rugby is concerned.

I personally am also completely convinced that Fylde would not make any committemnts that they could not honour and although there appears to be an element of volte face compared to the impression that was being given towards the end of last season the club has every right to change its plans and direction.

I think there was pretty universal admiration for Fylde's chutzpah in enaging the services of Jason Robinson and most of the people that I have spoken to thought it was brilliant for National 2 North. The follow up coup in swooping for Paul Arnold may rankle a little at Caldy but I suspect not excessively so and I expect there will be a deal of sport to be had between the clubs when first they clash this season.

It appears to me that Fylde have decided upon a plan of action which they have fully considered and which they believe is appropriate for their club. If the plan is soundly based they will have the infrastructure and the sustainable resource to execute it commercially and all any of us ask of our rugby clubs is that their investments are sustainable and soundly based.

There is however some relevance to the level of investment Fylde are making in that it is a very clear statement of their ambition. On a playing front Fylde have significantly elevated their profile in the eyes of opposition clubs and the pressure will be on them to perform. Fylde has a very significant challenge to live up to their pre match billing and it is clear that all teams in the league will be looking for the scalps of Jason Robinson and Paul Arnold as well as the relish of turning over 'The Mighty Fylde'

This maybe the best season for many years for all in National 2 North.

No doubt at all Biff that we've put ourselves in a pressuried position to be shot at by other N2N clubs. And that JR, Arnie and the other players will have to deliver on the pitch if they are to prove themselves as anything more than a collection of individuals looking only for a quick buck. We can't have it both ways nor would want it so. The publicity efforts invested in recent weeks have contributed to the hype and we will be judged by performances on the pitch.

If we can attract 2000-3000 spectators for the Hoppers game on 11th September then that would help to justify these promotional efforts. Granada TV have already committed to be there for a news report that night or the following week. We hope that BBC NW and Sky will also be there.

But this must be good for level 4 rugby generally which, sadly like level 3, is pretty much invisible on the national rugby/sporting media stage.

I have to say that all of this looks like a very professional and well thought through strategy on Fylde's behalf and you should be commended for the level of exposure that this is bringing Fylde and level 4 rugby.

I am a real believer in innovation and the proper execution of the big idea. I would be fascinated to know who first thought of the very bold move for Jason Robinson. It appears to be a commercially brilliant strategy that really does deserve to succeed.

The challenge for everyone else is to raise their game and probably to adopt a collaborative approach to the marketing of the matches against Fylde. It should be hugely beneficial for all clubs.

The best way to exploit this opportunity is for the National 2 North clubs (and especially the North West contingent of Caldy, Kendal, Hoppers and Manchester) to engage and in their own considered and appropriate way reinforce the statement that Fylde has made.

I believe this truly is the way forward and it is very exciting and invigorating.

Just brilliant!

Here's the reply fom Pen&Ink.
This will make Billy Whizz need to think.
He's light on his feet a dancer is true,
But will he know without a clue?
We talked last night about me joinin',
But have they got sufficient coin in?
L33, jb ratboy and mersey,
All but one wear the same jersey.
The other so is the goss,
Plies his trade on St Helens grass!
I'm not giving away any more hints,
For fear of revealing my footprints.
Fylde will be crowned Champions,
After all one of England's Bastions.
With Robinson, Arnie, Royle and Ollie,
Will they fail? Not on your Nelly!

Fylde have brought in new personnel.
Time will tell if it has been thought out well,
And I hope we don't have another knell.

I've had enough of this rhyming thing,
I think I'll go and play with my Bing.

Not too slow or too much belly,
You're on the wrong track, I'm not Nelly!
I don't have time to watch for your posts,
I think that you may be grasping at ghosts.

Billy Whizz you're on the run,
You're only trying to spoil the fun.
You say you're going to change the tack,
Just because I'd turned my back.
Have you gone away to hide,
Or are you just a Jekyll and Hyde!!

All this banter is making for a good game,
the wait alone is driving me insane!!

Cant wait to play those Fylde boys,
with Nelly and his brand new toys!!

Hopefully our pride will show and
we will strike a mighty blow!!

Money can buy you lots of things,
but will it fulfill Mark Nelsons Dreams!!!

I for one will try my best,
to put this theory to the test!!

Golly gosh these rhymes are bad
Is the world all going completely mad?
I must say sorry for what I've started
just like I do when I've just ******

I hope we can all break these habits
Cos its spreading like bunny rabbits
To get stuck like this will be no fun
What an earth have I done

If I can write but not in verse
I will have beaten this infectious curse
Pray will it pass or will it stay
I cant do this for another day or another hour or even another few minutes

At least for now the spell is broken,
Billy Whizz has properly spoken
I'll just depart with proper good grace
rather than pull a silly face

Ok Billy and Mr Hyde!!
I really am on your side.
It seems all this has driven you mad,
It serves you right for starting this fad.
This is the end for Pen&Inky but I'll see you tomorrow for a little drinky!

Oh Pen & Inky will you be no more?
I had hopes of you as a paramour
With big bazzookas and a loving heart
I imagine you really look the part

If indeed you are being laid to rest
Will I never gaze on your lovely breast?
But even so I cannot miss
Giving you a loving kiss

Can you please not 'out' or name posters. If they want to be known, it is up to them.

Thank you.
