When will Steve Collins be fit to play this year?

Axeman, we have four players leave Paton Fields, Woodsy as previously discussed and Jake Lyon, to Mixed Martial Arts (who may return hopefully), Incey and Kerfoot back to the home clubs. Other than that we have hung onto our entire squad.

We have however, had the return of Bradshaw, Remfry and Ross (from long term injury).

We havent had any major big name signings, however there are a couple of new faces down at training to add to the competitiveness of the squad in key positions.

I think we will be there or there abouts again, with greater depth this season, hopefully challenging Maccelsfield for the Nort Wests 2nd team league title.

There has been a marked change in training come into force with Stu Turner taking over the head coaching position from Matt Holt, training is alot more game related, focusing on playing flowing rugby with more structure. Improving the skills of the entire squad.

How's pre-season going over in Huddersfield?

this is indeed a great coup for Fylde, who have a lovely set up, with a very modern clubhouse, and it will be interesting to see what impact Robinson has on the attendance etc,
It will also be interesting to see how Nelson reacts to it, his expectation is always very high, and he can be very inflammatory from the touchline, sometimes overstepping the mark!!,
It`ll all be fine when they`re winning, but i wonder .........how will it be if they`re losing!!!!!

I expect Fylde to do well, Robinson will be great for this league, and i`m sure others will arrive on the scene to play alongside him!

From what I have seen RatBoy, it is steady. Our new coach Dan Hyde is making an impression on the chaps and we should be competitive as usual. Hopefully we can start as we finished last season!

Over the last couple of years the Caldy v Fylde fixtures have received a lot of interest on the forum and have generated significant pre match banter with the credentials of players and coaches examined in some detail to determine clues of who may prevail and to set up particular confrontations.

Last season both matches lived up to their pre match billing with Fylde's young side prevailing at Paton field after Caldy were softened up and disrupted by Kingi's over robust first half performance. Mark Nelson was clearly a man with a plan that day and the young Fylde side hung on for the victory after coming under immense pressure.

The reverse fixture at the Woodlands was a fast open game with Kingi fairly playing his part and both sides scoring some spectacular tries. Caldy were close victors to leave the season all square between the sides.

We must hope that this season's encounter will have the added spice of former Sale team mates  Stu Turner and Jason Robinson being on opposing sides adding significant interest to what is always a keenly anticipated contest.

Rock on!

Axeman, any new signings? Did you manage to hang onto your 10?

If Fylde can avoid injuries i cant see them finishing outside of the top 3.....JB, How do you think Dicky Vasey will do this season, a few more tries?
